We had a wonderful visit from start to finish. The food arrived hot, fresh, and full of flavor, and the wait time was impressively short. Ashley provided excellent service—she was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. The presentation of the dishes was beautifully done, thanks to Kenya in the kitchen, which made the meal even more enjoyable. Pricing was very fair, especially for dining with family, which is always a plus. Everything came together for a great experience, and we’re already looking forward to coming back again soon.

We live in Fort Worth, Texas. This restaurant was recommended by a friend who used to live in the area. It didn’t disappoint. We loved the food so much we ate here two different times within a week. The service was great. Our servers kept the drinks filled and checked on us several times.
The food is delicious and plenty of food for the price. Prices range from $8.99‐25.
When back in town, we will definitely be back!

Food was okay overall, but our server was incredibly sweet and attentive, which really made the visit enjoyable. The bar area had a great atmosphere, so we expected the restaurant side to feel similar. It was nice and clean—just a very different vibe than what you experience when you walk in from the bar.
My husband ordered the Beef Au Jus sandwich and said it was so good and absolutely worth the price. Even the small portion was generous, and they didn’t hold back on the fries. The fries themselves tasted like Ore-Ida frozen fries you could buy at the grocery store, but the portion size was great.
I ordered the Cajun burger and would rate it a 4/10. It was slightly overcooked. I’d be willing to give it another try in case it was just an off day – the bun was fantastic, though. The sugar cane sauce was the part that threw me off. I expected sweet, but the unexpected hint of horseradish wasn’t my favorite.
I also wasn’t a fan of the pork rinds on my salad in place of croutons. I may have overlooked that on the menu, so it caught me by surprise.
Overall, the service was wonderful, the restaurant was clean, and there were definitely some highlights. With a few small tweaks, I think this place could easily become a spot we really enjoy. We’d be willing to give it another try!

Whenever I’m in Baton Rouge, I eat here at least once. Their red beans and rice are on point. The house salad with pork rind and Tabasco dressing are so good as well, but the red beans and rice are soooo good.

Quickly sat and ordered crawfish and beer. Crawfish were small to medium with scattered bigger ones, but well seasoned and juicy.

Ordered étouffée and gumbo. I think the bowl portion is smaller than I expected. And étouffée is quite salty. Gumbo is fine.

Stopped into Sammy’s Grill for lunch and had the Thin fried catfish and white beans ( Substituted the white bean with a side of red beans and rice). It was enough for two people. Delicious food and great service. Another go to spot in Baton Rouge.

Sammy’s is a go-to for me during crawfish season. Seafood Gumbo is pretty good for restaurant Gumbo. If you’re from the south, you know what I mean by that statement. Boiled shrimp are normally Fiya whenever you can get them. I’ve had their steak and baked potato before and was pleasantly surprised by how good it was as well. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Stop in if you’re in the area.
