We went on a Sunday where they are only open for lunch hour. The food was wonderful; I had the Fried Udon noodles with a side of white rice and my Husband had the Gohan Bento Box. We also had a Bananas Foster and Mochi ice cream for desert. Our server (who was one of the owners) was incredibly nice and attentive.
She made a mention that the art on the walls was done by her and that she has more planned for the future. The art added to the ambiance and we cant wait to go back for the food and to see what else the owner has added to the walls.
They were playing piano renditions of Studio Ghibli for background sound, which was fun.
We would definitely go back.

Great Japanese! Our server, Suki, had to take care of the entire restaurant. She worked at a fast trot! The 3 of us had chicken bento, 2 steak bentos, fried softshell crab and fried shrimp. The miso soup was like none we have never had. Please note the labels on the photos. Excellent! Very good Japanese. You must try it

Don’t let the location fool you! The sushi is delicious, beautifully presented and I was surprised how quickly we we served our food.
Our server came by regularly to make sure our waters were full and everything was to our liking.
I had the Sashimi dinner and Brian had sushi.
It’s my new favorite!
The only negative I have is they use styrofoam for the to go container. That needs to change.
I won’t order as much next time so I won’t need a container.

I love Gohan restaurant it’s the best Japanese food and all of Petaluma I come here daily for lunch because I like having the tempura with my bento box order the bento box chicken and you can have your sauce on the side it’s delicious

Everything was delicious. I especially pay attention to the quality of fresh scallop, one of my favorites, and it was very good! The service and atmosphere were also really nice. It was quiet and nice inside. Best of all they also have fresh pickled wasabi you can order, nothing like it! Happy to come back to this lovely restaurant in the future.
