Out of the Barrel is a craft beer taproom located in downtown Los Gatos. Our mission is to provide the local community with great beer and immerse our customers in the small, independent, craft brewery experience. We are located on the corner of Hwy 9 and Santa Cruz Ave, across from Double D’s.

This is such an amazing beer experience, that I would definitely recommend this as one of the best places to grab beer if you have some time on a weekend. This is more like a taproom, and they have beer from a variety of different local breweries. You can even buy beer to go. Hi Lou recommended especially if you’re going to be doing Los Gatos for a day, we started here and ended up walking up the street to try different places.
There’s not a lot of seating, but there’s enough to accommodate most people. There’s indoor and outdoor seating. We ended up sitting outdoor and this was pretty cool because we could see all the traffic going into Los Gatos and got to people watch while drinking beer. It was a kinda nice experience.
The service was extremely friendly and super knowledgeable about all the different beer that they had to offer. There’s something for everyone here. They have ciders, IPAs, loggers, and other offerings.
Highly recommend recommended. We just came here for a beer, but I could easily see me returning and grabbing a few more.

The Out of the Barrel taproom is IMO the best place for ales, IPA’s, sours, porters and more in Los Gatos. There is a large board clearly listing the beers and helpful bartenders that can guide you to the right tipple. The patio area is nice but can get hot during mid summer. My only real complaint is the food. It’s just simple baked items that aren’t very flavorful. I’d like to see something fresh on the menu.

They have a really huge selection of beers here which is nice. Staff was friendly. They have 3 hazys on tap, so I asked to try all 3. I believe the one I ended up getting was the Barebottle Brewing Citra Shredder. Wow…so good! Might be my go-to beer. I’ll need to visit Barebottle in person (I believe they are in Santa Clara).
Seating inside. Outside seating as well…definitely seems like a cool spot to visit in the summer.
Parking in the lot is pretty easy. Could be difficult for parking during peak hours.

Well educated and welcoming bartenders at this place! Mango sour is a refreshing, original taste that I have not had anywhere else. Outstanding selection rotated daily. If you are in Los Gatos, this place is a complete vibe.

My first time here was great. My partner ordered many beers and I had some good NA options. Service was super friendly.
Second visit, different worker and he couldn’t even make eye contact. Also wasn’t going to give me change and just kept it for a tip (my tip was 20% already). On the patio, a group sat next to me and opened packets of dried fish with the skins on. The smell was so bad, I had to move across the patio to the small bar on the other side.

The guy who was serving wasn’t willing to help at all! He stayed on his phone for several minutes! I had to wait for him to finally look at me so I could place my order! Terrible service! I was almost kicked out of the place with 30 minutes left before closing! Awful customer service! I’ll never come back here!
