This place is amazing, I been in a few aguachiles/ceviche places in DFW area and this has to be the best place. The seafood is Amazing and the prices are good. The installations doesn’t look like a lot but the food is the protagonist in this little jewel. 10/10 I order a tostada de ceviche and aguachile, both crazy good

My family and I tried going to a restaurant in this area which turned out to be closed. So we did a quick Google search for ceviche restaurants in the area. Mariscos El Chuy was listed with 4.7 stars so we decided to check them out. Honestly we almost drove past this little hidden gem. We were concerned about the restaurant’s exterior aesthetics. But once we entered this very small restaurant and took a look at the menu, we were ready to order everything on it. The ladies in kitchen were extremely friendly and amazing cooks!

I’m currently on a quest to find good Aguachiles near me. Mariscos El Chuy is my second stop on the journey. The place is super tiny . If you blink, you might miss it. The parking sucks. I did manage to park at the gas station next to it. I ordered to go. The staff mainly speaks Spanish but there are employees that speak English as well. Some of the food that came out while I was waiting looked pretty good. I saw a fish soup that looked breathtaking . They were busy but the staff was getting the orders out in a timely manner. On to the main attraction .

You can get hot sauce for the Aguachiles, but I skipped that. No me gusta. . I waited until I got home to open the order. It passed the visual test. The dish looked fresh and simply delicious. It smelled great. This version was just lime juice based. No verde or rojo sauce. I did like it but it was really limey. I mean like too much . I felt like I couldn’t taste anything but lime. I’m not sure if that’s how it is supposed to be . Next time that I order it I will be sure to ask if they can go easy on the lime.

I think Aguachiles Verde is my preference so far. Still, Mariscos El Chuy is a solid choice for Aguachiles.

Not sure that there is a more authentic seafood “shack” in Dallas. Parking can be a challenge but very much worth the effort. I just parked behind another patron and they were understanding.
You walk into the chatter of the kitchen heard through the order window. Ladies in the kitchen deveining shrimp, cutting up freshly cooked octopus and prepping orders. All working in sync like a well oiled machine.
Order at the window and take it to go or dine along the enclosed wrap around counter. The food taste fresh. The sauces are not overly citrus, tangy or spicy. They are well balanced and don’t over power the taste of the seafood. I had the seafood tower and the mixed seafood cocktail and they did not disappoint.
It’s BYOB so we brought a six pack to share. We didn’t stay long after our meal as to give other guest the opportunity to also enjoy the experience. If you Love real Mexican style seafood this is a must try.

What this place lacks in seating arrangement, parking space, and overall image of the building it delivers unto the food. The food was most excellent. They FEED you here. It’s like I was going to a restaurant owned by my mom. She fed me an absurdly full plate and with such great customer service and a smile. You tip these wonderful ladies and they will take care of you. This is the place for authentic ceviche and related seafood dishes. No alcohol but the drinks were nonetheless wonderful. I was genuinely impressed.
