Had a long flight to Long Beach and we picked the closest place to our hotel. We came from the very cold Midwest and saw Gladstones had a patio and it was sunny. When we walked in there weren’t many people there, maybe one or two tables. It took about 5 minutes for anyone to acknowledge we were there. We were finally seated in the sunshine on the patio so we were happy. Took another 5 minutes or so for a waiter to show up and take our drink orders. Ordered Old Fashioneds and had to wait for 10 more minutes to get them so this wasn’t starting off well. Waiter finally came back and took our order. Food came out about 15 minutes later which was ok with us we had just started our 12 day vacation. He did bring out some bread that didn’t look very appealing but it ended up being very good. Next came the coconut shrimp, jerk wings and the cod/fries. Jerk wings were very good with a lot of flavor. Coconut shrimp were ok but nothing special about them or the sauce, about what you would buy at the grocery store and put in your deep fryer. The cod was very good, fries were average (may have been beater if they had been hot). All in all the patio seating was great and 50/50 on the food. OFs tasted like a straight shot of bourbon so our personal bartender (hubby) doctored them up to our liking. What we ordered vs the price we paid was very high. This was one of the highest bills we had our entire trip ($150.00) and I did double check everything because I was shocked. Wait staff could have been a little more attentive and pleasant. Our waiter never came back to give us the bill, we had to ask someone else to bring it to us. I would never stiff a server on their tip because I understand how hard they work but this was a close call. We did have a great view and enjoyed tge sunshine.

Food is not as pricey as you’d think yet it was good! Overall it was a good meal and the restaurant atmosphere. This is a good spot for 2 to 8 people I’d say and appetizers can definitely be shared for the whole table!

On valentine’s day we went to this Gladstone restaurant in long beach. We were seated right of way. It wasn’t very busy but afterwards we had to wait a lot for service. The staff were tardy and even rude. It took half hour to even ask us if we wanted a drink. They wouldn’t clear the table to make room for next order. I hadn’t seen such a mess for a long time. And the food was nothing to write home about. I don’t think I will go there again

My husband has been to another location before so he was excited to take me here. He and I along with my adult niece were disappointed. I will say, even though the clam chowder was thick like pudding, it had a wonderful flavor and I would do that again. My husband’s seabass was fishy tasting and not very good. It was dry. I ordered the parmesan crusted halibut and although it had potential to be great, I found myself taking more lemon out of our water glasses to squeeze onto my fish. They barely put enough of the sauce on there which made my fish dry. My niece got the pasta, it was good but heavy so she was having a hard time finishing it. We got calamari as an appetizer and it was good, not the best, but pretty good. The bread and butter was the star of the show = delicious!!! When making an online reservation I noted that it was my nieces 35 bday so I thought they would do something, but nope, didn’t even acknowledge it so we went to the funnelcake house and got something there. Not sure i would really go back since there are plenty of restaurants in the area and it costed us without any cocktails $179.00. Pricey for the non quality and what we got.

Always great seafood and you can’t beat the views of the harbor and Queen Mary. The Queensway Salad, Seafood Trio, and the Seafood Pasta (lobster, shrimp, & crab linguine) are all amazing along with their lobster deviled eggs. Servers here are always great and make good suggestions on what to try. This lead to me trying the Manhattan Fish Chowder. Delicious. They also serve warm sourdough bread with is amazing.

The place is very nice. Right on the water. We had an issue with our table leaning but staff allowed us to move. Food was delicious and well prepared. Side note, water is tripled filtered which is nice as the city water doesn’t taste nice.

Entered the restaurant waited at the entrance, nobody came. Stepped in, someone saw me but they didn’t react…took a bit until someone came up to offer me a table. (Sat on the terrace)
Food was delicious, had the tuna cooked rare. The first waiter a nice young gentleman was very friendly. A lady later came and apologized that she had no time for me (even if the restaurant was empty at 1pm) I then received my wine and my meal which were both great. Nobody asked me how the food was, plate was cleared just when I asked for the bill. Bill came higher than the price in the menu (which was changed as soon as I mentioned)
Great location and good food.

We’ve been to Gladstone’s several times over the years, both the original Malibu location and Long Beach. Admittedly it’s been several years, but what an sad decline. First hint should have been how easy it was to get a reservation on 2 hours notice on a Friday night. This place is dead.
Most surprising is they no longer serve crab?!? Which was the reason for this visit.
We ended up with good clam chowder, the queensway salad (good but was overpowered by the blue cheese), coconut shrimp (sauce was the best part), and parmesan crusted halibut (not enough sauce, and really dry with overcooked, mushy broccoli). As mentioned in another review, the sourdough loaf was the best part of the meal.
It’s truly sad was has happened to what used to be a fun, vibrant atmosphere with consistently good food. This will sadly be my last visit, and from everything experienced tonight I would be surprised if they would even be here in a few months. I hope tonight was just an anomaly.
To their credit, my halibut dish, which was a recommendation from our server, was removed from our bill.

We had dinner here on two different evenings. The restaurant has a nice view of the yacht pier, the Queen Mary and a lighthouse. There is a nice selection of seafood items. I really loved the Thai calamari which was not too spicy and was perfectly tender. The crab bisque only available on Fridays was also delicious with a generous portion. The macadamia crusted mahi mahi was really tasty and so were the fish tacos. The service was great and attentive. I recommend reserving a table if you go at peak times.

First time trying this place and I enjoyed every bit of it. This place has such a relaxing and soothing ambiance. The service was excellent. My server was attentive as she continuously checked up on me. The food did take a little long to come out but the food was good. It wasn’t anything super delicious, but it didn’t taste horrible. FAIR WARNING, you have to pay for parking & sometimes it can be difficult to find parking. If you’re not patient, then you might as well pay for Valet parking.
