One of the best restaurants in Tallahassee. I love the aesthetics of the place, esp. how they have wood booths that provide more privacy than most restaurant booths. It makes the experience there much more intimate. I also loved the long bar they have and the color pattern of tile on the floor. It gave the place the feel of a building that has been there for over a hundred years.
Most restaurants will start off with bread on the table. At Ted’s, they do something more unique. They provide you with sliced cucumbers that seem to have been soaked in salt water. My wife loved them, I didn’t. But apparently it’s a thing here. We started off with the bison nachos, which were excellent. For my entree, I had their bison brisket with kale salad. It was delicious. The service was great as well.
This place can be a pain to get into if you are traveling south on Capital Circle (US-319) and trying to make a left turn. When traffic is busy, you may have to wait a very long time to make the left turn to Village Green Way. Instead, make a left from Capital Circle to Raymond Diehl Rd, then a right at Village Green Way. Using a traffic light to make that left turn can really save you during busy traffic times.

While staying in Madison, FL, we tried Ted’s Montana Grill in Tallahassee. As most-time RVers traveling the U.S. and Canada, we rate food stops using our Dawg Haus scale (The Best, Very Good, Good, OK, Not Impressed). We ordered the Ted’s Smash Burger—one bison and one beef—and found the bison had the better flavor, earning a Very Good, while the beef was Good. The burgers were flavorful and well-built thanks to the house ranch sauce, and while the fries and onion rings were average, we really liked the broccoli. Service was friendly and attentive, and our server, Kaya, did a great job—plus the half-sour pickles at the table were a great touch.

The food was excellent, and the service truly stood out. Our server, Raven, provided outstanding recommendations and ensured our drinks were always refilled without us having to ask. Her attentiveness, professionalism, and genuine enthusiasm for her job made the entire dining experience exceptional. It’s rare to receive service to this degree, and it did not go unnoticed. Raven is an huge asset to Ted’s, and her dedication reflects very positively on the restaurant. 10/10 experience — I will absolutely be returning and will specifically request Raven again.

I met a couple of friends here for dinner & we ordered an appetizer, different drinks and different entrees. EVERYTHING was AMAZING!

Fantastic restaurant! Definitely a “not to miss” place when visiting Tallahassee. Their burgers are amazing! Try the bison short rib too; really good. And of course finish off your meal with the apple crisp!

My wife and I visited Ted’s for our anniversary. We have been to pretty much every mid- to high-end steak place in the country, from Peter Luger’s to Ruth’s Chris to Roadhouse and all the others in between.
We were very impressed with Ted’s, both from the quality of the food and the attentive service, even though they were at full capacity with dozends of people waiting to be seated. We had a reservation and were seated on time. The atmosphere is like a big-city steakhouse, with most of the seating in small, private booths.
My steak was perfect (I opted for beef, not Bison) and the sides were generous and excellent.
We will definitely be back at lunchtime one day to check out the burger and sandwich offerings.

This was our first restaurant stop as a family during our trip, conveniently located just a short walk from the American Hotel where we were staying. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with classic American décor and captivating paintings that added to the charm of the place.

Our kids ordered the chicken tenders, which came in generous portions and were a hit. My husband had the bison salad, and I got a taste—absolutely delicious! The dressing was flavorful, and the bison was cooked to perfection. I ordered the bison meatloaf, which was tender and savory. The gravy was rich and divine, and the mashed potatoes and carrots were equally delicious.
Overall, this was a fantastic experience for our first night. The service, the setting, and especially the food made it a memorable start to our trip. Highly recommended!

Wow! This is a great place to eat good food and feel good about it. We got the Bison fillet. This may be the best steak we have ever had. It is a little expensive. But it is worth it. I love how they bring you cucumbers to snack on while your food is being prepared.
Grace was our server and did a great job taking care of of us. We can’t wait to go back.

My husband and I stopped in for dinner, and we highly recommend the Bison New York strip steak. The cut was fantastic, and full of flavor. The sides were a great compliment on the plate and left you wanting more.
Our server Lynn was knowledgeable and attentive, we came back the next day, and sat at bar met some locals and got to see Lynn again. We tried to bison meatloaf which didn’t disappoint, it’s not every day or every restaurant you get to have that option.
Be brave and try the Bison!
