As people from BBQ towns, this was extraordinarily good. The pork was perfectly marbled and cooked to perfection. The BbQ beans were delectable. The brisket was balanced moisture and leanness, and the potato salad was yummy.
The staff was very friendly and welcoming.

This place is freaking amazing. We sat at the bar where we were taken great care of by Ben. First initial look at the menu has us going crazy. Ben is knowledgeable in everything urban BBQ. Made us some of the best drinks and even turned me on to a new beer . The nachos were first up. The meat to chip ratio was ridiculous. There wasn’t near just sprinkled a little here and there. It was thrown all over the place. Their sauce are amazing. After taking down that big baby our meals came and you just don’t get any better than this. Their cornbread is out of this world. Their pulled pork and brisket taste like heaven. Best first time experience ever. Will definitely be coming back. It’s a must try for everyone.

If you’re on the hunt for a new BBQ spot, check out Urban Brew & BBQ on Central Avenue. This place brings a cool twist to the dining scene with its walk-up order concept. You won’t have to waste time waiting for a table—just walk right up and place your order.
The beer selection here is top-notch, featuring a range of options from local brews to well-known favorites. If beer isn’t your thing, the full bar has you covered with a variety of cocktails and spirits.
The indoor dining area is on the smaller side, which adds to its cozy charm. However, the outdoor seating area is where Urban BBQ really shines. The relaxed atmosphere is perfect for enjoying a meal with friends or family, and the shuffleboard play area adds a fun, interactive element to your dining experience.
One of the standout features of this BBQ joint is the vast amount of board games available. It’s a great spot to unwind and enjoy some good old-fashioned fun.
As for the food, it was good but a bit average compared to other BBQ spots. And while the prices, to us, were a tad on the higher side, but the overall experience makes up for it.

We had the pulled chicken with potato salad and a half rack of ribs with coleslaw—everything was delicious! The ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender, and the pulled chicken was juicy and packed with flavor. The sides were just right and rounded out the meal perfectly.
We also tried the “You’re My Boy Blue” beer and a crisp light lager from Colorado—both were great complements to the BBQ.
On top of the great food and drinks, the outdoor shuffleboard courts looked like a really fun activity. Next time, we’ll make sure to stay a little longer and play a round!
Can’t wait to come back!

Excellent experience. Very welcomed, good prices, excellent service and great kitchen.
Yummy on site smoked meats, unique sauces.
Great beers. Third on the list today was an “I have never had a better” IPA.
Started grapefruity, midded grapefruity and finished grapefruity, with just the lightest undertone of bitter. A perfect IPA and almost certainly using Mosaic hops or descendants.
Shuffleboard courts. Yay!
Hidden gem.

Got to say I am glad we tried this place. We traveled from Riverview FL to St Pete, and it was worth the trip. This place has an amazing vibe to it. I truly love seeing a building reused for another purpose instead of rebuilding. I want to say this was an old garage or something similar, so the way they reused the space to create the restaurant space was brilliant. The decor looks like they used all used items. Due to this, the vibe of the place was amazing. The staff here was very friendly and helpful. The food was great as well. My daughter had the Mac & Cheese balls with an amazing dipping sauce. My girlfriend had the pulled pork bbq nachos that she absolutely loved. I had the brisket with garlic mash and a biscuit and sweet bbq sauce. The garlic mash was so good. The brisket had good flavor but was a little dry for my liking for a moist cut that I requested. The bark was full of flavor, but not enough fat meat was a little dry as mentioned. I wanted to try the St Louis Ribs, but due to morning prep issues, they were not available at the time. It happens, so that means I need to come back to try them. Believe me, I don’t mind coming back here as the overall experience was wonderful. Plenty indoor and outdoor seating. They have multiple shuffleboard decks, which look fun. If you are near, come on by if you are a bit further away. I believe it is worth the trip. Will be back!

Such a unique spot! Very spacious outdoor area for seating, dogs allowed, plus 3 shuffleboard courts, you could spend half your day there! Inside you’ll find friendly staff, a small bar area and more seating. So many BBQ options you’d expect if that’s what you want! Yet I went for the popular Urban Mac n Cheese (with bacon), which is technically an appetizer yet enough to be a meal. They also interestingly have root-beer on draft which did not disappoint! Truly something for everyone.

Great place of you’re looking for smoked bbq. We came in at a relatively quiet time. The staff was great. The beer selection is excellent as well. Quite satisfied with the portions too

I went here a few years ago back when they were at their old location and honestly was not a fan. After a few years, I thought I should give them another try. I had a brisket plate – still not a huge fan but it’s decent by Florida standards. It was a little rich, and the portions seemed kind of small (we ordered a half pound and shared it). The sauces were real good. We also shared a black eyed pea hummus as an appetizer that was really tasty. All in all, a much better experience than my first visit. It’s getting hard to find BBQ in St Pete (Dr BBQ closed recently as well as the nearest Sonny’s location) so we will probably be back.

Had a good experience at Urban. I love the outdoor setting and the fun games. LOVED the fried cheese balls for appetizer. However the pulled pork slider was a bit dry and could us more sauce. Loved the self seating style when you are ready to order you head the bar and place your order and when your meal is ready they will bring it out to your table.
