Finally made it to Scotty Simpsons Fish and chips. Ordered a half order of fish and chips. Fish was cooked to perfection. Crispy coating and moist tender fillet inside. Crispy fries and tasty cold slaw. Surprised how busy it was at 3PM Friday afternoon. But i think like me many were there mid afternoon to avoid the peak times. Fast friendly service. Excellent fish and chips. Probably the exact reasons they are so highly rated and have need around 75 plus years!!

I thought the food was pretty good definitely in need of more menu options and fish options I didn’t find anything that stood out from the short menu I thought the fish was pretty good I was disappointed with the quantity it was supposed to be 3 pieces of fish but really it was like one and a half cut very thin and battered they claim you have 3 pieces of fish is unacceptable The fish was very greasy to the point to where you can squeeze grease out into a bottle very oily fries was just okay the coleslaw was pretty good but would prefer a thicker sauce It was pretty watery nothing was worth the trip honestly I seen on tiktok and hand to try but probably won’t be returning

The food was wonderful and the service from the staff was probably some of the best I’ve ever had. The waitress serving us was named Heather and she was also awesome. The time that it took them to make the food was probably like 10 minutes, which is really fast and the food was hot

So the best thing on the menu is the fish, easily some of the best fish I’ve ever had. The problem is everything around it. The fries came out soggy and completely tasteless, no salt, no seasoning, nothing. The shrimp was hard and just as bland. And the tartar sauce situation is ridiculous. It looks like they use a needle to squeeze a tiny drop into a tiny cup. It has to be half a teaspoon at most. What am I supposed to do with that amount of tartar sauce for a full piece of fish. I have no idea why they are so stingy with it, but they need to fix that immediately. The coleslaw was awful too.

If you want to have the absolute best fried fish in the Metro Detroit area, this is the place to go to. It has been around a really long time so they have a long standing reputation to uphold. They continue to do exceed expectations every single time.
Great staff as well.

This was our weekly Friday go-to when before we moved away. It’s always on our to-do list when we return. BEST fish and chips! We haven’t had anything close since we moved away! I love that it hasn’t changed/modernized, because it’s still the quaint, wonderful, delicious little place we always loved!!

One of thee oldest fish and chip restaurants in Detroit. The atmosphere gives you an old school feel like from the ’60s maybe a little earlier. Excellent food. Simple menu. Mostly 1950s ’60s music. But hey I’m from Motown. I love it.
