This is a long overdue review. I came here after a doctor’s appointment in hopes of supporting a local business.
Looking over the menu, the owner asked rudely what I wanted. I wanted a latte. So he said, seemingly annoyed, “what flavor? We have all flavors. Anything you want.” Taken back by his attitude, I asked if he had sugar free options. He replied, “oh, no. We don’t have sugar free.”
Okay…then. You don’t have ALL flavors.

See the attached photo. What do you guys think I orders? A steak dinner? Sushi? 5 coffees? 3 lattes? A carton of eggs?
All wrong. I ordered TWO drinks and a $6 pastry. One of them being a “seasonal iced drink”.

YES, you’re looking at the actual receipt. THIRTY DOLLARS!

I understand that everything is organic, but $30?!

The owner, seeing the sheer disbelief on my face said. The prices on the menu are for hot drinks only and any cold drinks are extra. NO where does it say that ice is extra…insane.

This place is the biggest scam ever. I recommend going up the hill and going to the coffee shop in the church or Philz. Hell, Starbucks is better than this jip joint.

$12.95 for an egg nog latte. I was told it was priced bc it was seasonal. Then, I return to give them another try and I get the same price on the register for a non-seasonal drink. I’m told it’s because anything iced is an up charge…but of $4? The board says $7.95 (which is already a bit much) but then $11.95 was quoted for the 3rd largest size for an iced drink. I switched to a smoothie since the pride for that seemed to be more consistent in general and with what was stated on the board. I was told it’s an extra dollar to mix flavors. Most other prices are not straightforward. I believe he said all prices listed are for hot drinks only. Please ASK abt pricing so you don’t waste money!

I’m incredibly confused on their pricing. The pricing on the board was $6.95 & $8.95 for the lattes we ordered along side a bagel w/ cream cheese. It came out to be $33. I even asked him to provide me with a receipt after calculating everything because the math didn’t make sense. The prices posted are not what you get charged. This seems to be a scam that is going on because this has to be the most expensive latte ever only being 16 oz as well my latte came out to be $15. There was no transparency … I should have read the reviews first seems to be a pattern

I stop by for morning coffee and a bite to eat in the mornings. It’s a friendly and classic cafe atmosphere. The coffee is delicious and the owners are so friendly. Love going there throughout the week!

Nice coffee shop in Castro Valley – the store has a bunch of really nice photographs, and tea and coffee gear for sale.

They serve a bunch of different types of coffee & tea drinks & pastry – the cashier was super helpful and answered the questions we had before we placed our order.

Love this shop through and through. The owner helps out in the shop and makes this little place very local. Owner greets everyone and makes regular customers feel like a regular. New customers feel welcomed and always want to come back to visit. Quality drinks and food meets expectations. Vibe is so nice to chit chat with friends or just to chill out from a long week. Parking is minimal but there are free street parking. Always enjoy Vincent (the owner) showing great quality work ethic.

This place was decent.
The person working there (assuming the owner) had 3 diffrent things to say that left me with a bad experience.

I’ve never been there before, first time. I asked a few questions regarding quality.. & that must have been a reason to shoo me away?

I was told “I dont need to know how they make their drinks” when I’m only curious what process they use. I was not told kindly either; I was warned that their items are too expensive for me without having ever met me before.. I might look young but I know quality & spend good money. I was highly disappointed in the treatment I received. Not helping about asking questions regarding quality.

The tasty latte did not override the poor service I experienced. Likely will not return nor send friends to check them out.

Be mindful of who you are speaking to.

I wanted to try this coffee shop out on my way to work. I walked in and asked for an iced mocha. The man behind the counter told me a small is $13.00 and a large is $15.00. I could hardly believe it. I often visit local coffee shops on my way to work, and this is absolutely the most expensive espresso drink I’ve ever seen in my life.

I can’t say if it was good or not, because I turned around and left. Ended up going to a drive thru shop a few minutes down the road where I paid half the amount for a perfectly good drink. Won’t be trying to come here again.

Amazing how much the owner tries to rip you off.
EXTREMELY OVERPRICED. Coffee frap (16oz) costs $11.95 even though it’s advertised as $7.95 on the menu. The extra cost came from adding an espresso shot in there. Latte is $5.95 for a small, but if you want that iced, jumps up to $9.95. Absolutely insane for a small coffee shop. Prices for added shots or iced are NOT advertised on the menu. Just criminal for VERY mid coffee.

$11.95 for a 3 shoot- 18oz latte.
I asked why so much, owner said because it was organic. I asked 3 times where he gets the coffee beans and he named 4 different countries. The beans where stored in plastic. The drink was average tasting.
