On Feb 25 I went to Poppy’s to order a lunch meal which was a hamburger & tots. As I was placing the order a white van pulled up with seven or eight workers. The woman who took my order stated and her co worker said that I was right on time . Do to the rush of auction workers. Well what happened next after sitting waiting it out everyone in the Van got their order before me even tho I ordered before the eight people who received their orders, I was flabbergasted that happened. Next I mentioned to worker number one who took my order that I was here before all them , and she stated you have a hamburger that’s well done that what taking longer. I then said mam seven or eight meals just was served right in front of my one hamburger and tots. Again I am right on time. Cool I leave Poppy’s with the meal open box ,the order is completely wrong. I go back,I asked for refund & was told not to come back. Well in all Essence as a black man and a van full of whites has the privilege at Poppy’s.. I did explain to the Van full of Gentlemen’s and one white woman what happened to me at the moment and they were also flabbergasted..

Someone at work picked this up for me. So no idea of service or atmosphere. The food I received was such a gift. The size was generous. The flavor was spectacular. Breakfast burrito with sausage. Mmm. Dang. So good.

If you’re looking for homestyle, home-cooked food then this is your place! The Shepherds Pie by which all others are judged!!
Absolutely incredible breakfast and lunch, huge portions for a reasonable price. One of my favorites, the Shepherds pie has set me up for disappointment on all other shepherds pie. Check the specials on the website, if it’s a Friday you may get lucky and they’ll be serving it, just make sure to reserve early, it goes quick!

The Atmosphere: Poppys atmosphere is very welcoming, weather you walk up or call in you’re greeted with a warm smile and a “welcome to Poppys, what can I get for you today” it sets an inviting ambiance for your visit!
Ordering: Everyday Poppys hosts different specials on top of their everyday menu, specials ranging from “Country fried steak and eggs” for breakfast or a classic Homestyle meatloaf for lunch! They deliver a great meal no matter what you choose, It will leave you elated to see what’s in store the next day!
The food itself: Oh Boy the food itself, now I suggest you call in because everything here is practically made by hand and depending on your order it’ll take a bit to cook. And that’s ok because it’s well worth the wait, homefries, grits, eggs, biscuits, omelets, burgers and everything else all given precious time to cook, nothing is rushed and that’s what makes poppy one of a kind! Everything is seasoned to taste and very very good from the corned beef hash to the philly cheese steak its all fresh and freshly made with genuine care and attention!
If you’re looking for a great place with absolutely amazing food, without a doubt I recommend Poppys! You will not be disappointed at all, weather you pick up to go or you sit out on their patio to eat and enjoy the fresh air. Poppys will leave you wanting more every single time! WOW! WOW! WOW! I have worked in this area for a while and had no idea this little hidden gem was there. I found the place yesterday and asked them for a to go menu. Came back to the job site today and had to go there for lunch. Definitely was not disappointed. We ordered the bacon cheeseburgers with the chips and pickle and these burgers were hand-pressed and absolutely cooked perfectly. The people are so friendly and nice and the food is so good. You definitely get more food for your money. I also had to get myself one of the delicious muffins that I saw the day before. They have a variety of homemade muffins and brownies and they are absolutely delicious .

The Chicken Salad in unbelievable. I go at least once a week. I just got the bacon egg and cheese, just awesome! All the employees are super nice, delivery guy is great too. Try it you wont regret it.
