We had the Chicken Ruby and the Chefs Special and so yummy ! (Very spicy but indeed yummy)
It is very tight and loud inside but the atmosphere is overall pleasant. The food is the star in my opinion.
The staff that served our table was incredibly helpful, attentive and just a nice chat. It was my bday so it was really thoughtful of them to surprise us with free desert with a candle.
Lately it has been getting some popularity with tourists which may become a bigger issue if the chain starts taking customers for grated and get sloppy.
But in the meantime is as lovely as ever. Thanks Dishoom
The service was 10/10. We had the lovely Nasir from Bangladesh looking after us, and he was great, really caring and always making sure everything was good for us. He gave us some excellent recommendations, and there are a few we will try next time.
We started with the okra fries, then had the chicken Ruby, monkfish curry, and gunpowder potatoes. The dishes were amazing!
They also brought out a little cake for my birthday, which was a really nice touch.
I have been to this Dishoom many times, and it is by far one of my favourite restaurants in London.
Thank you Nasir!
food was AMAZING, i’ve been here once before and it was ok, but this time we ordered the right things. their IPA is delightful, mango lassi is yum too. their chicken ruby is a must order for standard tikka masala/butter chicken fans. also lamb curry was so well spiced and tender. i was blown away by the daal which didn’t look like much for the world but it was heckin creaaaamyyyy and so balanced. mushy, filling, dark and gorgeous. the samosas were great too, especially lamb.
i also didn’t expect the dessert to be so good but the ice cream… idk what they put in that but it was so fluffy and paired so well with the melty choccy pudding…
so lovely and my whole family had a great time!
Fyi I know the pictures of the food might look underwhelming but the flavor explosion is real. I choose flavor over aesthetically pleasing food any day.
I’d recommend the Black Dhaal and chicken thigh in particular, and the cheese chilli toast to start.
We didn’t wait long for food and drinks to arrive at all.
You won’t regret coming here!
I sat down and was greeted by Stefan who was super charismatic, made me feel comfortable, and took me through the menu, making recommendations as he went. I took his suggestion of the Pau bhaji and Nihari biryani. Both dishes were incredible. The biryani was huge, and served baked with pastry on top. The flavours were intense, with plenty of spice – just what you want in ann Indian meal – and the lamb inside was tender and delicious.
Stefan checked in a couple of times through the meal, addressing me by my name which was impressive considering how many other people he was serving at the bar. He explained the best way to eat the dishes with the various condiments.
Overall the experience was incredible and I can’t recommend it highly enough.
The food? Next level. The dal makhani was nothing short of brilliant—rich, comforting, and perfectly balanced. The paneer, chaat, and vegetable dishes all came with a creative twist, each bursting with bold, exciting flavours that made every bite a little adventure. You can really tell there’s thoughtful innovation behind the menu.
And then… the coconut brûlée. Hands down the best dessert I’ve had in a long time—creamy, indulgent, and utterly addictive. Yum yum indeed.
While the tables could be spaced out just a touch more, the ambience more than makes up for it: lively yet relaxed, with that signature Dishoom buzz that makes you want to linger.
All in all, an exceptional meal with fantastic service and unforgettable flavours. Can’t wait to go back!
The food was delicious and full of vibrant flavour. The staff were very attentive and the atmosphere in the restaurant was very unique and pleasant. The food came out quickly however we did go on a Tuesday at lunchtime so I suspect weekends have longer wait times. That being said, I would have happily waited longer as the food was THAT good.
We ordered the chefs special which was a lamb biryani, as well as the masala prawns, black daal, aubergine chutney and raita along with a side of roti. By the middle of our meal we were very grateful for the fresh Raita which helped cool our mouths a little from the spice in the rest of the foods and my spicy margarita. We rounded everything off with the crumble, which was very tasty.
I hope to come back again soon to try more if they’re incredible dishes.
