Casual, colorful restaurant serving an extensive menu of traditional Indian cuisine.

Aroma Indian Cuisine makes super delicious Indian food at reasonable prices. We had the Chicken Seekh Kabob and the Chicken Vindaloo and both were excellent. The flavors are rich, well-spiced, and really satisfying. The portions are very generous too, which makes it great value for the price.
It’s very easy to order takeout or delivery, and everything travels well. The restaurant itself isn’t my first choice for dining in, but they have a big menu with a lot of great options. The service is very friendly and ease of ordering was great, which makes the experience even better.
Overall, a great go-to for takeout or delivery when you want really good Indian food without paying a premium.

Been here so many times and the food is SO GOOD every time!! This is my favorite and go-to Indian spot, I can’t recommend it enough. Curries are so flavorful and the chicken is always perfectly cooked (a problem I’ve had with other places is overcooked chicken but that is not the case here). And the service has always been great. Love this restaurant!

Aroma is a solid spot in Minneapolis for authentic Indian flavors, especially if you’re focused on takeout rather than a sit-down experience. The food stands out much more than the ambience, so go in with that expectation and you’re likely to be happy.
## Food quality
The food is genuinely authentic and well-seasoned, across both starters and main courses. The various appetizers and curries we tried were consistently flavorful rather than “Americanized,” which is a big plus if you’re looking for real Indian taste. The mango drink (mango lassi/shake) was refreshing and paired well with the meal.
## Drinks and extras
They also serve masala chai, which is worth trying if you enjoy Indian-style tea with spices. It adds a nice, homely touch and rounds off the meal nicely, especially on a cold day.
## Ambience and dining
The ambience is quite basic and feels more like a takeaway counter than a place for a relaxed dine-in outing. Seating and atmosphere are functional rather than cozy, so it’s not ideal if you’re looking for a special sit-down experience.
## Best way to enjoy it
This is a place to go primarily for the food, not for the vibe. If you’re craving good Indian food in Minneapolis, it’s definitely one of the better options to try, but opting for takeout will likely give you the best overall experience.

I was excited to try this place after seeing all the amazing reviews. Was pleasantly surprised by the amount of food that came in the order we got, so that was a plus. However, I’m no expert on authentic Indian flavors, but compared to other Indian food I’ve had this tasted pretty bland. I’ll definitely give them another try, hopefully food will be better next time around.

Ok, i was SO excited after reading all the positive reviews. And boy was i disappointed. As someone who’s spent over half a year in India, I can not say this is authentic to any dishes I ever tasted while there. I ordered the Makhani chicken and naan with a masala tea. The tea was pretty good, tasted like some of the chais I had while there. I realize people have different recipes for the same dish. But this was not enjoyable. I ate it because I ordered it and had to pay for it and because I was starving as I’d missed lunch because of a busy work day. The sauce was thick and pastey and had little flavour and the rice was a bit crunchy (undercooked). As we walked out, my husband said, “Well, we can cross this place off the list.”
If you’ve never had Indian food from India, you may find this to be just fine. This is just 1 person’s opinion.

Just ordered food today, the containers are like 70% full. You can see I just opened the box and took these photos. It looks like someone ate in this already… also there is a burned piece of rice. Very disappointed. Called to let them know, but wanted to warn others so that this changes.

I cannot say enough good things about Aroma, both the food and the management and staff! My (now) wife and I have both loved their food for years, and so it was a no-brainer to reach out to them to cater our wedding. In addition to being very fair with their pricing, I have never worked with a company as kind, courteous, and hospitable as Aroma. They worked with us to figure out exactly what we wanted, and then followed through with incredible food and service at our wedding. Every last bit was eaten or taken home as leftovers by our guests, many of whom were introduced to Indian cuisine that night. It’s just that good!

We were going to get take out but then we caught the buffet. We really enjoyed the food. The curry was great.

Came here because we were in the mood for Indian food. Overall, it was good, but not great. The samosas were a bit undercooked, and the sequencing of food was way off as there were 10 minute gaps between dishes. It wasn’t busy as there were only three tables, including ours, during our time in the restaurant. The biryani was spicy, and the dal was not, even though we wanted it to be.
That said, the flavors were good, and our dishes were prepared to order. I probably won’t be coming back, but I would recommend giving Aroma a try.
