Very nice out-of-the-way surprise. Excellent food and very reasonable for the price, especially with In-Kind available. The salad was superb, as was the sushi bowl dish. Duck dish was a little light in the serving. Edamame was very good. Service was a bit awkward at the bar and the vibe is a bit strange, not really New York, but the crowd at the sushi bar seemed extremely happy. Definitely going back.

In love!! The service is exemplary, and the cuisine is exceptionally flavorful. Came here for an evening outing with my friends. We had a 6:45 reservation and arrived slightly early, so we ordered some of their signature cocktails at the bar, which were marvelous. My choice of poison was their Match Old Fashioned; it was not overly infused with matcha, but maintained an impeccable balance! It was a fantastic experience for all of my friends who had the chef’s tasting/omakase. Unfortunately, I’m not a sushi person, but they assured me that the rice, fish, and sauce were perfectly prepared. Exceptionally fresh!
They had such a wide variety of dishes that even someone like myself who isn’t a fan of sushi could enjoy an outstanding meal. One of the reasons I truly appreciate this establishment. As my friends enjoy their omakase experience, I can relish in the delicious taste of their delicately prepared cooked dishes. Their grilled edamame is highly recommended; it is, without a doubt, the finest edamame I have ever tasted, and I am particularly fond of edamame. For my entrée, I ordered their seabass, and it was truly exceptional—perfectly prepared with an exquisite sauce. I also enjoyed their Wagyu burger, which was amazing. Remarkable richness and a melt-in-your-mouth delicacy! You will immediately recognize that everything is of exceptional quality and carefully crafted to provide an extraordinary experience.
Highly recommended for anyone in the area—or even farther afield—because it is well worth making the trip!

Consistently one of the best omakase’s I’ve had in NYC. (And I’ve been to a lot!). The quality of fish, rice, and ingredients is top tier. Fish is seasonal, comes from Japan, and sourced by Chef Mark himself. You can tell chef cares about his craft—he even makes his own soy sauce. Incredible value.

Really enjoyed this dish! The chirashi bowl was great and everything tasted super fresh. The fish was high quality, the toppings were generous, and all the flavors worked really well together. Every bite was satisfying and felt well balanced.
The drink was also refreshing and went perfectly with the meal. Overall, a great experience with good food and nice presentation. Would definitely come back again

This review is about the sushi Omakase at the sushi counter.
The Sushi Omakase at Mishik is the equal of the best in NYC. At a much better price! Mark the owner and itamae (sushi chef) sources great seasonal fish from Japan. He then ages it in the tradition of the great sushi counters. He makes his own soya sauce which is much finer and less salty than any commercial soya and finally makes perfect rice. Omakase can be a lot more more expensive but it doesn’t get much better than this. Highly recommend.

10/10 love this place! The service and food were immaculate. Came here for my anniversary and was immediately greeted with champagne for the occasion. Both myself and my partner got the chef’s tasting/omakase experience and it did not disappoint. From the first course to dessert, the food was to die for. Will be back!

Sushi was excellent, lots of premium cuts of fish provided with the 10 piece nigiri set. I normally don’t like the wasabi and ginger but at this place both were outstanding. Spend was ~$120pp.

Came to try their Teishoku lunch set for $35, which comes with soup + salad. Their soup had a nice umami/mushroom flavor and the salad had these yummy parm crisps. We got the Roasted Chilean Seabass and Japanese Hamburg for our entrees. I really loved the Seabass! It was moist and the yuzu miso sauce paired perfectly. The Japanese Hamburg also paired nicely with the potato salad, which had the most refreshing Ikura that popped in your mouth! Their Teishoku portion is just enough for each person, with room to order an app or two to share.
For apps, their Rock Shrimp Tempura is a MUST! It’s a dish of bite-sized shrimps and each one is fried to perfection! Their Gyoza also had a beautiful, crispy skirt. We closed the meal out with their refreshing and delicious mocktails.
Comfortable and nice interior with attentive staff. Quick walk from the A/C/E/1 trains at Canal St and near a good amount of corporate offices, for the perfect lunch or happy hour spot!

The staff were kind of rude and slow, especially the male server. It felt a bit racially motivated…other non-asian customers were treated more kindly. Interesting to note that most of the poor reviews are from other asian customers… Additionally, oysters were really fishy and gross. I only ate one and left the rest. They ended up charging me $14 for the oysters even though it was happy hour and was supposed to be $10. Miso Cod was watery?!

I would give this place more stars if I could, honestly shocked it wasn’t packed because this has to be one of the best places sushi spots I’ve had in NYC. My husband and I sat at the chefs counter and had the chefs omakase. Every single thing that came out was so delicious, I was actually sad when our meal ended. The wagyu was the best wagyu I’ve ever had … I can go on and on about every dish. The staff from the host, servers to the chefs were so friendly and made our dining experience so enjoyable. I wish this place was open on Sunday because we wanted more (we went on Thursday) before heading back to DC. Can’t wait to come back to NYC and eat here again. Shout out Chef Markee, you did wonders! Thank you to the other chef as well for doing a mini fish show and tell.
