For once, a Chinese takeout restaurant is aptly named.

When my family and I crave Chinese takeout, this is our go-to spot. Not only do they churn out large takeout orders in good time (our orders are typically quite large, and we’ve never had an issue in the thirty or so times we’ve ordered in the past), but it’s always hot, well-seasoned, and well-prepared.

Our orders typically include a ‘something-and-broccoli’ dish, and they always manage to cook the broccoli to perfect tenderness. I’ll also add that this is the only takeout place (ever) where I’ve actually liked the sesame chicken. In most places, it’s either too sweet, mushy, or overly sauced; here, it’s dependably delicious.

We especially love the combination plates on the menu, which offers certain entrees with a choice of fried rice or lo mein and a side of egg rolls.

I find the take out service at the Good Taste restaurant in Chatham Township to be reliable and efficient, the food is fresh and appealing. Each time I have given specific instructions, they get it right. They do what I ask them to do. It’s unfair that disgruntled customer reviews from 3 to 11 years ago are what comes up first when you read the reviews. They are not relevant. This is a small business in a modified strip mall setting, so the category “atmosphere” in the review list hardly applies. I place a phone call, and in the 7-10 minutes it takes to drive there, the order is prepared and waiting for me to come in and pay. Yes, I pay with a credit or debit card, but I leave a tip in cash in the tip jar. Since I have ordered similar dishes from different places, I know what I am looking for. This isn’t a gourmet or Master Chef situation, this is quick, fresh and local for dinner or lunch, and the Chef (s) is a solid professional, as is the Cashier. Some people need to lighten up a bit. Just picked up food from here for the first time because our usual spot was randomly closed for the day. Too bad for them, bc this place will now be our usual spot. Portions are great for the price. Food was seasoned perfrctly and just the right level of spice. My kids especially loved the green colored steamed dumplings. We called from ~10 minutes away and food was getting bagged as we walked in. 5 stars all around.

I’ve been going to this Chinese fast food place for some time, the food is mediocre nothing great. However the service is not welcoming. I recently attempted to purchase a quart of wonton soup with my credit card. The cost of the soup was five dollars, the owner wanted to charge me additional five dollars because they have a minimum of $10 to use CC. He said that he wouldn’t make any money on the transaction. I strongly doubt that the credit card company is taking five dollars for this transaction. If I was to use five dollars in cash it would be no problem because they can hide cash from the IRS. I’ve been going there for years and couldn’t believe it. This is an illegal act by this establishment. Don’t know how this place can do business. I’ll never order food from this place again and stronger recommend you do the same.

WACKO BIRDKEEPER

I “used to” go there at least once a week for the last few years, until today. The food has always been OK, but the people there are not at all friendly. Today was the last straw. I ordered my food, and a soda, and took some condiments to go with the take out. The guy there tried to take the condiments away saying I don’t need them. I told him I wanted them, and he them tried to charge me $2.00 extra for the condiments and told me that this was tax. I’m not stupid, and he knows I have been a long term customer. When I told him I was not paying for the condiments, he got nasty, so I left the lunch I was in the process of paying for, I left the condiments, I left the soda and I informed him that he lost a customer and that I would never go back, and I never will. This is not how to treat a long term customer. The food is not THAT good to have to take abuse, and it’s not like there are no other food establishments in the vicinity of Chatham, Madison, and Morristown.

Never again. We wanted to try a new place for takeout this weekend and it was an unfortunate experience. The rice was watery. The lo mein tasted like it had been drenched in soy sauce, and the dumplings were super doughy. Don’t waste your money.

Having grown up in the area I have ordered their food on a few occasions. Got beef & broccoli a couple nights ago, about an hour after eating I began to get ill. When I called to complain the next day the man on the phone began yelling at me. When I showed up and asked for a refund he told me to wait, and then proceeded to call the cops. One of the most bizarre experiences involving food services that I have ever been through. This business should be shut down immediately, call the health inspector, Chatham can do better.
