We ordered Samosa, Saag Paneer, chole bhathure, paneer Kulcha and of course Idli sambhar.
They have perfected Idly Sambhar dish. It’s authentic and good.
Saag Paneer is good wish they add some Punjabi masala and give a bit more portion for a table of 2-3 people. After all Punjabi dish should be served generously like Punjabi do!
Samosa is massive in size and one order is enough to satisfy one growing young adult. But their outer shell needs some work. It is not flaky and inside is not cooked well enough. Stuffing is good for an average American but not for South Asians.
They made good bhathure and it was big enough for two !! Plus it was cooked well.
Chana needs some work for taste as well as consistency. It was more of chana bhaji. It was made with cream to make it mild which ruined the taste for my daughter who hunts Dhaba for Chole during our road trips in North India
Kulcha looked amazing. It was made well and it’s a good size, but when you taste it the paneer inside is not enough. It doesn’t taste Kulcha. The stuffing had garam masala that reminds me of Kerala masala.
Loved their Mango lassi.
This places is freezing so wear outdoor jackets to eat without numbing your fingers.
They need some training for service staff. They have pleasant and courteous staff but they do not check on you to refill your water, clear the table before bringing more courses. Worst part is their finger tips dips into the food. Hence a bad rating for service. Tables were sticky to touch. And our glasses had scuff marks.
I would go again and eat only South Indian food, I would hope the owner would train the staff about table hygiene and serving techniques so our food is not touched by their hands. They cleaned the table next to us and my daughter got the spray mist of the cleaning solution. It wasn’t done on purpose or in spite but they weren’t trained. When cleaning tables they could have sprayed away from guests or lowered the bottle. I hope the kitchen staff has better training and they have stricter cleaning schedules and protocols. Overall glad to have a decent Indian restaurant. I recommend this place for trying it at least once
The chicken biryani was good and medium spiced. The butter chicken was really missing cashews and that distinctive taste, and was more of a tomato soup with chicken.
