In terms of foods, we started off with the Samosas (2 Pcs). They came peppered with some kind salty and peppery seasoning which was incredibly delightful by itself. Honestly if they had a small sauce bowl full of that seasoning, it would’ve been more than sufficient for me personally. The crunch on the Samosas were quite flaky and thick. It was such a nice contrast with the melty potato and pea filling on the inside. For sure, one of the best samosas I’ve have here in Texas!
The Tandoori Momos came in the shape of “traditional” Chinese dumplings, skinny, long, and with the creases. There wasn’t much of a crunch on the momos even though I sort of anticipated it so that was a bit disappointing. The flavor also had a hint of Tandoori, but was for the most part pretty weak. The chicken filling inside was great though, just not sure how I quite feel about how minor the Tandoori flavor was and the lack of crisp on the outside of the momo. Not the worst, would definitely want to try the Szechuan momos next time.
The Burnt Garlic Fried Rice w/ Egg was also quite good in my opinion. The flavor was subtle, but had a slight yet pleasant umami profile. I could definitely eat more of this dish. I wouldn’t say it’s fully comparable to a traditional Chinese fried rice, but it’s not too far off.
The Chicken Tikka Masala was very buttery and tender, it just melts in your mouth. Great cilantro and green onion undertones. The cilantro was not at all overwhelming at all and I thought it was one of the defining pieces of the dish! The chicken was cooked very well, practically fell appart when we ate it. The sauce was delicious, smooth, tangy, and paired great with rice. This was an above average Chicken Tikka Masala dish for sure!
Overall, very solid and I definitely my palate was definitely satisfied. I’m excited to see what the next visit entails!
Overall a quick service indo-chinese restaurant with good service.
We specifically go to Red Hot Indian in Richardson just for one dish — Shahi Paneer — and it never disappoints. The gravy is perfectly rich, creamy, and flavorful with the right balance of spices. The paneer is always soft and fresh, and the overall taste is authentic and consistent every single time.
Honestly, for this dish alone, this is the best place in the Dallas area. You can truly taste the quality and care in preparation.
If you are a Shahi Paneer lover, this place is a must-visit. Highly recommended!
