First let me say our waitress Nohelia was wonderful. She was friendly and attentive even though she was busy and with the kitchen extremely slow. It took our food what seemed like forever to come out of the kitchen and some of our order was incorrect, which our waitress had fixed swiftly. HOWEVER, the food was horrible! There was absolutely no flavor or seasoning on any of the food. Taco bell has more flavor than Pepitos and we tried a few items. If you are looking for good Mexican food, please do not eat here, and please do not let the line outside to get in fool you…go somewhere else.
The tamale was very dry and bland. The Yucatan balls had no flavor, everything was bland.

It wasn’t the best I’ve had but it wasn’t horrible. However, the birria bowl left something to be desired. The consomme tasted more like enchilada sauce. And a large portion of my meat was hard gristle (see photo). This is an easy thing to avoid by trimming the meat.

We recently visited this Mexican restaurant for fourth of July and had mixed feelings about the experience. The food itself was excellent — flavorful, fresh, and well-prepared. We really enjoyed the variety and authenticity in the menu.
However, the service was disappointing. Our server seemed distant and unfriendly throughout the visit. She never smiled, barely engaged with us, and the overall attitude felt uncomfortable. Unfortunately, it came across as cold and unwelcoming, and at times, it felt like we were being treated differently — which left us wondering if it was due to bias. It’s not something we expected, especially at a place known for its warmth and hospitality.
While the food deserves high praise, the way we were treated really took away from the experience. We hope the management looks into customer service seriously, as it’s just as important as good food

We enjoyed an early dinner with a fabulous Fresh Margarita: Patron, fresh lime, agave really a perfect drink. We enjoyed the chips salsa and queso which reminded me of the Pepito’s in Tuscaloosa from my youth. It was refreshing to eat at a restaurant in Destin that didn’t have the look and feel as though tourists had been running through it for years. By that I mean the restaurant was clean, relaxing, stylish without the cliche decor. The staff were professional in dress, and service was requested with a glance and not wave and whistle. The food had bright, fresh flavors, served hot and plentiful. The prices were better than reasonable. Thank you Pepitos

The Food Service atmosphere and fresh Margaritas for absolutely perfect we got the Texarkana fajitas and they were more than enough to share with between two people. Our waitress Erica was super attentive and on top of our table every few minutes to check up on us. We will definitely be coming back on our next visit
