Sushi San is hands down some of the best sushi I’ve had in Nashville. The atmosphere is sleek and lively — perfect for date night or a fun dinner out. It feels upscale without being stuffy.

The sushi is the real star. Everything was incredibly fresh, beautifully plated, and full of flavor. The nigiri melts in your mouth, and the specialty rolls are so well balanced. You can tell quality is a priority here.

Now, the service could use a little fine-tuning. It wasn’t bad, but it didn’t quite match the level of the food — a bit slow at times and not as attentive as I expected for the vibe.

That said, the food absolutely makes up for it. I’d still come back in a heartbeat because when the sushi is this good, it’s worth it. ✨

OUTSTANDING. This is not your typical sushi place. Check out the menu and you’ll understand. The variety of rolls and other dishes is extensive. Vision, our waiter, was attentive even though the restaurant was packed. He also helped explain the menu since it was our first time. Kevin, the manager, was also great. He checked on us and made sure everything was to our satisfaction. We were a party of four and shared 5 appetizers and several maki rolls. It all was delicious. Very fresh and great flavors. We had the spicy tuna crunchy rice, the wagyu crunchy rice, spicy shrimp, beef lettuce wraps, dumplings, spicy salmon roll, yellowtail roll, bluefin tuna and avocado roll and lobster rolls. Yum! We also had the hugo-san spritz, the margarita, the cosmopolitan and the thank you and enjoy (which comes in a cute Chinese food takeout container — it’s a mezcal drink). Service was excellent despite being busy on a Wednesday night. Afterward, we got a hand dipped matcha cone and strawberry matcha sundae at the takeout window located outside the restaurant. We’ll definitely be back soon. I want to try the butter cake! Bar is large. Vibrant atmosphere. Lots of booth seating. Music is a bit loud but not terrible. Highly recommend making a reservation, even if you’re going on a weekday. Restaurant gives you a 50% discount for two hour parking in the nearby garage. Some free street parking but it’s usually full.

We celebrated my birthday at Sushi San with a group of 16, and overall it was a really fun experience.

Since we were a larger party, family style dining was required, which actually worked out well for our group. Everything came out fresh and nicely presented. We started with the crispy spicy tuna and wagyu tartare, and the spicy tuna was our favorite between the two. The spicy scallop roll was definitely the standout roll of the night. The yuzu yellowtail and spicy salmon rolls were solid choices, and the Faroe salmon and akami nigiri were fresh and enjoyable.

While the food was good overall, what really made the night special was the service and atmosphere. They did a great job accommodating guests who do not eat seafood with options like skirt steak and bibimbap, which everyone appreciated.

The wait staff was friendly and attentive, and they handled a party of 16 very smoothly. The general manager checked on us multiple times, which made us feel well taken care of. After dinner, we stopped by the soft serve window outside, and the general manager surprised our group with complimentary ice cream for my birthday. It was such a thoughtful touch.

The wait time was reasonable, drinks were good, and the atmosphere is stylish and lively. Overall, it was a great place to celebrate with a big group, and we had a really nice time.

From the service to the food, 10/10 experience. My partner usually doesn’t like raw food, but we got the bluefin sashimi and the watermelon addition was the cherry on top. We both loveeeedd it!! Also got the miso soup, gyoza, chili cucumber, lobster California and tempura shrimp roll, and the beef n bop sizzling rice. When we were leaving we stopped and got the soft serve. Unfortunately they were out of the matcha, but the Ube was really good too. We will definitely be back!!

Without a doubt in my mind, best sushi I have ever had. If you know and love sushi, please go try this place. Absolutely stellar food. Fresh, and full of amazing flavor. We loved every single thing we ordered.

It’s even better than Nobu (from my memory, haven’t been in 14 years) it was my favorite till now

If I had to pick my absolute favorite it would be the octopus tacos appetizer (just get it, even if you’re not a huge fan of octopus) trust me.

Second favorite would be the tuna/watermelon appetizer. Also phenomenal.

Our waiter Emmie was also very polite, friendly and knowledgeable.

Well done Sushi San! Rock on and don’t change a thing!

Good mid tier sushi. Recommend for a quick bite. Dishes are fairly priced. Service is great. Must try the ceo and the bim bar rice. The rest of the food was okay for me. Loved that we got to celebrate my friend’s bday. She got a cute mochi treat!!!! Definitely visit for a casual time.

Wow, I’m still speechless! From the moment you walk in, you’re transported to a high-end NYC or LA vibe. The decor strikes the perfect balance between elegant and cozy. As for the food—this is hands-down the best sushi I’ve ever experienced. Between the incredible cocktails and the perfect playlist, the atmosphere was unmatched.
If you go, make sure to request Emily; she is a total star who knows the menu inside and out and provides world-class service. We celebrated my daughter’s 24th birthday there, and that Butter Cake is an absolute must-try. This was my first visit, but it definitely won’t be my last. I can’t wait to go back!

This place deserves a 20/10! The food, staff, whole all around experience has been top notch. My husband Stan Davis and I once we tried it shortly after it opened, we have been back at least twice a week! Shout out to all the staff especially the manager Kevin, Mindy at the front, and all the servers especially Tony and Ernesto! We love Sushi San.

The vegetable san set was amazing! The tomato nigiri, cashew vinaigrette salad and the butter cake? Out of this world. The service and ambiance were great too. There’s a cute ice cream area connected to the restaurant and the pineapple sorbet dipped in matcha was a 10/10. Overall a phenomenal experience.
