Nobody prepared us for the portion sizes here!!! Hubby and I both ordered egg dishes and sweet dishes, but seriously should have shared an omelette and one order of pancakes. But it was so delicious that we somehow managed to eat it ALL! The 5-egg 3-meat omelette was unlike anything we had ever seen before. Truly behemoth. See hand for reference. The service was attentive, the restaurant was clean, and the food was as delicious as it was ginormous. Took off 1 star for the exceptionally frigid air conditioning, but honestly we were happy to put on jackets out of respect for the staff hustling around who probably enjoyed the cool temperature. We will be regulars from now on!

I really wish I had been able to enjoy the food here because the restaurant itself seemed great. Unfortunately, after we were seated and I looked over the menu, I learned that most of the items are cooked in peanut oil. Because of my peanut allergy, the staff explained that the only item they could safely serve me was a gluten-free waffle not even eggs.
I do want to say that our server was absolutely wonderful. They were kind, patient, and did their best to help me find something safe to eat, which I really appreciated.
My only suggestion would be clearer notice about the use of peanut oil before guests are seated or when entering the restaurant. For people with peanut allergies, that information is really important and could save a lot of time and disappointment.

As always the food and service was great. My family and I try to eat at OPH when we are in town. The apple pancake is so massive I made 3 meals from it, and it’s delicious!

The food here is phenomenal and while there is a little bit of a wait, would one stress over the wait line to heaven? That’s what we are talking about people!!! The cooks in the kitchen put real time and effort into every single thing that leaves that kitchen. The atmosphere is so welcoming and our server Julie was the bubbly, kind, caring cherry on top. It was my Grandma’s birthday and she took extra care of us, bringing my Grandma a literal rose and putting a candle on top of her pancakes. She was so personable and accommodating, I know my family can be a lot and we always need something but Julie was patient and speedy! This place is the best!!!

Do not eat here until you first make sure the bathroom is clean. I’ve eaten at this restaurant several times over the years as I used to be local. And I’ve taken friends and family as well as recommended it for vacationing friends.

Our table was too wet to sit down at. I had to ask if the restaurant could wipe down the table as I didn’t have my usual pile of paper towels in my purse. The hostess offered to help. But before she could help us she almost slipped and fell down from the unmarked large puddle of water on the floor. Our hostess was wearing thick rubber soles shoes!

My food was OK but my dining companion had a dry waffle. My omelet custom bakes for 15 minutes so I don’t know if they left his waffle under the heat lamp.

But the biggest issue was the ladies bathroom. I have lived nearby on and off since 2007. I visit Savannah at least once a year which I’m not local. I routinely dine at this restaurant and had previously highly recommended it.

The ladies sink had an aged caked sheet of dirt all over it. The type of dirt that doesn’t happen overnight, by accident or from one messy customer. It looked like someone on staff had previously taken a stab at cleaning it but gave up. This needs industrial solvent to clean.

It highly makes me question how clean is the kitchen and wonder how the establishment passed a health inspection.

Signed. Disappointed Long Term Customer

P.S. No photo of the sink as i didn’t bring my phone and purse into the bathroom.

Food is always fresh and prepared the way it’s requested. They are a lil slow with refilling beverages but that’s minor. The bacon is always crisp and thick. Pancakes are fluffy. Eggs prepared as requested.I love this place.

Today was our first visit here. We absolutely enjoyed the food and were completely thrilled with our server and her service. The food was hot and delicious. It took very little time to come to our table. They were a little busy but the service didn’t show it. We were very pleased.

Enjoyed breakfast here this morning. The service was excellent. The food was very good.

The hubs had pancakes, scrambled eggs and bacon. I had pecan silver dollar pancakes. Everything tasted yummy. The whipped butter was perfect! So many breakfast places serve hard
Cold butter – they had perfect soft spreadable tasty butter. YumO!

My one issue is that they could use more attention to cleanliness. I don’t know if it’s just because they are so incredibly busy or if they need to hire staff that just cleans. But that needs some attention.

My Husband and I came to The Original Pancake House for a Valentines Day breakfast. It was super busy but we didn’t wait long at all
Our server NAE and she was absolutely amazing. She had several tables but no one had to wait on anything and she was very attentive. She constantly checked on us to make sure that we had everything that we need. She was very polite, very friendly and very personable. We will be back ASAP this was a great way to start our Valentine’s Day

This is our first time here! We have been living in the area since October, but we could never find a good time to visit because weekends are extremely busy, especially if you don’t go right when they open. The food is amazing for the price—you’re served a generous portion! I recommend asking your waitress or waiter for suggestions on how to get the best value, as the menu is extensive and can be overwhelming for first-timers.
