Not a great lunch experience for my visit. Only had an hour for lunch and the food took 39mins to make it to the table with only my table and one other seated, prob understaffed. Sweet tea and fried okra were 5⭐️ thou.

Great place and service! We were greeted at the door and promptly seated. Our waitress was Tanay(spelling?) and she was wonderful. Our food was tasty and delicious. We all did the 2 for $20 deal (entree and two sides): pulled pork, fried whole wings, mac & cheese, dressing, candied yams, okra, fried corn, baked beans, and dirty rice! Sweet tea was also really good and fresh. We will definitely be back!

We walked in and were greeted by the staff. We dined in. We were seated immediately. The wait staff was personable and attentive. We ordered the catfish with their secret seasoning okra and sweet potato casserole and the whole wings with fried corn on the cob and fries. The food was outstanding. We did a 2 for $20 special, which is quite affordable; however, it did not include drinks. Drinks turned out to be quite pricey at $3.99 each. They were flavored lemonades and tasted really good. We did receive free refills and grabbed some to-go. They also had dessert, but we were full. We will be visiting this establishment again.

The atmosphere was great , the drinks were amazing. i love the food menu, and it has a wide variety of things to choose from. The whole fried wings were seasoned to perfection, and the corn wast roasted perfectly. The mac and cheese was homemade creamy cheesy and just right, and i loved the yams as well.

Well, it’s Revu-a-Holic Time. Also, happy New Years!!!! I had to write this review before the end of month. Why? To start the year off with fresh new places to go and see. Plus, who wants to be jinx sitting at home? When it’s something to be discovered every day.
The first eatery I visited this 2025 year was Smoke House 227. When I see this business name, what comes to mind is the 1980’s show 227. In my head I hear the song “There’s No Place Like Home Theme” by Jackée Harry. Back to the subject. I had a taste for barbecue due to pregnancy cravings. My friend that stays out my way referred me to this location. I must admit the barbecue was not overly seasoned which is . I give a ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ rating.

As for the sauce, it does differentiate from other brands when it comes to sense of taste. For example, the flavor has a sweet and zesty kick. A downside is I prefer thickened sauce. Theirs is a little aqueous.

We wanted to find a good BBQ place in Gadsden so we gave this one a try. It was right at 70.00 for 4 pulled pork plates. That wouldn’t have been so bad except I couldn’t eat the slaw, it had a weird twang and way too much mayo. My 95 year old mother said the Mac & Cheese was one of the worst she had eaten. Our pork had pieces of big fat that had to picked out. I took a pic of one of our plates, to show you all the fat from just that one plate! I’m not trying to be negative but I dont have anything positive to say, except maybe the beans were good. I’ve been looking for a good BBQ place since moving back from Texas but this one was a big disappointment.

I was doing work in Gadsden for the company I work for and I looked up restaurants. Smokehouse 227 was on the list past a few chain restaurants. Well worth the trip. Best pulled pork sandwich I’ve had in a long time. And real southern sweet tea. Amazing staff and incredible food.

We found this place on a whim and I’m so glad we did! Everything was absolutely delicious and we left so full and happy! The service made us feel so at home and all of the details are perfect! We will definitely be back!

My husband and I went here because we heard so many good review’s, he ordered the smoked wings, and I ordered the lamb chops, mac & cheese and the fried okra. the smoked wings were tiny but were enjoyable. the lamb chops on the other hand could use improvement, they were smaller than expected, and tasted a bit freezer burned, the mac and cheese was bland but the okra was DELICIOUS!! the pepsi products (we ordered cranberry juice and strawberry lemonade) were $4 each which i did find a little extreme. The atmosphere was great and the host was friendly but that’s not enough to bring me back here…
