Taste of the food is good atmosphere is chill service can improve the only issue is the food is super skimpy price is to high for the food that’s served.The price you are paying for is the cilantro and cebolla this place use to serve well when they started had a worst experience last time but decided to give it a second chance but it was a fail. When in ELA, I always make a trip here. I moved 60 miles away a few years ago, so I don’t come as often anymore.
So, I ordered two birra plates and a Ramen birria soup for pick-up with Uber eats. My family and I like extra cilantro and onion, so naturally I asked if I can have a little extra and I showed the lady at the register a tip I had in my hand and I placed it in the tip jar. The lady let the kitchen know I was requesting extra for my order of two plates and a soup. Tell me, why does the skinny older women in the kitchen approach the window with a unpleasant pissed off face and hands over a tiny little bag of it? I hope the cilantro and onion didn’t come out of her paycheck because thats what it seemed like!! If I could give a ZERO for the kitchen lady’s lack of service, I would. I won’t be coming back here again. I guess thats why Uber has their restaurant at an 89%. ♀️

Make sure to get cheese! Was not thinking when I ordered, and didn’t get cheese, ordered more and they were better. The consome was the star here, meaty and excellent flavor. I will say… They are not the best birria I have had but still yummy and took care of the craving. They are very small but they do fill them up. The salsa also had a solid kick so make sure to taste test before smothering anything.

The food here was great. We had the birria tacos with a small consome and a agua de pepino. Everything was amazing but what I didn’t like are the prices. Each Taco was around $3 which was a bit high because they are small tacos. But what really got me was $7 for a medium size agua de pepino. They are making a killing on their Aguas frescas. I didn’t see how much they were till after she told me my total. No sean tan carrero$!!

Now the location across from Whittier HS was closed. Not sure why but that was my go to location.
This is the other location closest to me so I figured I would give it a try but never again.
Tacos, a consome and birria plate are always my go to. However at this location they serve you more juice than meat for the birria plate. They’re charging me $16 a plate so I expect to get what I pay for. When I approached the counter to discuss my dissatisfaction the gentleman dismissed me and made another lady at the counter deal with me. She was rude and instead of asking how she could help she automatically said do you want your money back. No miss I would like to receive what I paid for. She took my plate and gave me a spoon full more. Still more juice than meat. Wish I would have taken a picture. Overall I won’t be returning to this location. I’ve been to 4 birria Gonzalez locations and this one by far had the worse service. I’ll stick to the trucks instead.

The red Salsa makes Everton tastes better make sure to get it! Everything sooo expensive!!

Tacos: I asked for tacos dorados which I love, but the tortilla was corriosa(not sure how to say it in English) but meaning it was so hard to bite on, I could tell it was previously warmed up then it cooled down and after a while I came and that’s what I got, meat was good, not the best but satisfied the craving adding the salsa.
Agua fresca horchata: extremely sweet I couldn’t finish it, definitely not recommended for diabetics.
Service: the cashier was ok, she greeted us but was in a rush. The lady that brought our food to the table had a face that she didn’t want to be there so it kind of ruins the moment a bit.
The place: it was clean not to busy.

Food is decent…but They jacked their prices up. Crazy now three quesatacos and one Jamaica runs you $20!!! … They’re no longer the quick quality cost effective meal that they used to be. I won’t be returning too many other good options in East LA
