The Dancing Crab is such a hidden gem! From the moment we walked in, the vibe and atmosphere were spot on. The patio was beautiful, and we actually had it all to ourselves, which made the experience feel extra special.
The food was incredible, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Their Thai tea is perfectly sweet and refreshing, the crab rangoons are crispy and delicious, and the curries are full of rich flavor. Even the rice came shaped like a heart, which was such a thoughtful little detail that made the meal feel even more memorable.
On top of the amazing food, the service was truly top tier. Our server went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. Even when their internet went down and we had to pay in cash, they told us not to worry about the tip—but honestly, with service that good, there was no way we were leaving without showing our appreciation.
If you’re looking for great Thai food, warm hospitality, and a wonderful atmosphere, The Dancing Crab is the place to go. We’ll definitely be back!

Incredible food, beautiful atmosphere. Warm and cozy on a cold winter Pittsburgh day. The Short Rib Kao Soy Curry was incredible. Falling off the bone. Pad See Ew with Shrimp was delicious too. If you’re white and can’t handle the spice like me, I recommend level 1 lol

A hidden gem in East Liberty, so happy we wandered in! The best pad Thai we’ve had in the city, the food is flavorful and generously portioned. The service is very friendly and the atmosphere is warm and cozy. Loved it!!

Trust me and go here. The logo doesn’t do it justice. The vibe is beautiful, I walked in and was instantly blown away by the setting. I thought I was going to some random dive bar place but ended up with a 5 star hotel vibe. The staff are absolutely amazing and are very nice. They treated everyone with such high regard, and they are so kind. The Thai ice tea, my go to drink these days, was delicious, don’t think you can go wrong with it. I ordered the Pork Pad Thai, my go to first item at a new Thai place with a spice level of 7, and if you like spicy this place is for you. Was absolutely delicious, I was so pissed I couldn’t even finish it but next time I will . Anw absolutely recommend this place, their steam buns as well, 10/10 will be coming back

Dancing Crab Thai has become my favorite Thai restaurant in Pittsburgh! The restaurant is beautifully decorated and the atmosphere is nice, but the food & service take it to the next level.
The staff are amazing. They are kind, attentive, and the experience feels like something you’d get at a much higher price point. The host seems like he genuinely cares about the customer’s experience.
My favorite is the Drunken Noodle with Chicken. Extremely flavorful. The rice noodles are perfectly soft & chewy, the vegetables still have a slight crunch, but are cooked through. The crab rangoon are some of the best I’ve ever had. The prices are very fair for the amount of food you receive.

We went for dinner on Friday, 7/25. It was very crowded, but thankfully we had reservations and they had a table ready for us. I could tell they recently opened and are still figuring out how to manage the crowds. There were a few noticeable issues that I hope they improve:
1. It took a very long time for someone to come and take our orders.
2. It took an extremely long time for the food to arrive. Once it started coming out, there was about a 30-minute gap between the first and last dish. Since we weren’t sharing food, some of us had to wait and watch others eat, or wait and end up with cold food, very uncomfortable!!!
3. They added an 18% tip without informing us.
4. They didn’t split our checks.
5. As we were leaving, the waitress came after us asking why we didn’t leave a tip, which was shocking! She didn’t even realize the 18% gratuity had already been added, and we had to explain it to her.
On a positive note, the quality of the food was good and acceptable.
If you plan to visit, avoid going during rush hour and don’t arrive overly hungry. I hope they improve their service over time.

Best crab fried rice I’ve ever had and I’ve had plenty lol. I appreciated that the server educated us on their spice level so I could make an informed decision (opted for a 2 out of 10 and it was perfect). My daughter loved the duck curry, so much so that I didn’t get a taste! Highly recommend. Not pictured is the Thai iced tea that was also perfect on such a hot day. Very busy for good reason so maybe make a reservation if you’re impatient.
