Food:
I ordered a Big Red burger with just ketchup, fries, and a vanilla shake — everything hit the spot perfectly. The burger was juicy, the fries were crisp, and the shake was creamy and classic. My wife got the Hustler burger and really enjoyed it, saying it had great flavor and balance.
Service:
Most of the staff were friendly and welcoming, though one or two helpers came off a bit off-putting. Overall, service was quick and the food came out fresh, which made for a solid experience.
Aesthetic:
Big Al’s has that classic burger joint vibe with older signage and a nostalgic feel. It’s simple but charming, the kind of place that feels like it’s been serving up good food for generations.
A local tour guide recommended Big Al’s, and I’m so glad they did! We ordered 3 meals, each with fries and milkshakes, plus 6 containers of their delicious Big Al’s sauce (2 per meal). The total came to around $48, which felt like a great value—especially considering how tasty everything was!
The food hit the spot, the shakes were a treat, and the service was genuinely friendly. I had looked at another nearby restaurant with prices ranging from $20–30 per plate, so we were especially happy to enjoy a satisfying lunch without breaking the bank. Definitely recommend if you’re in Kanab and craving a classic burger-and-fries meal with local charm.
The bison burger stood out big time: if you’ve never had bison before, this is the place to try it. It’s rich, juicy, and in my opinion, even more flavorful than beef.
The waffle fries were crispy and golden, and their homemade fry sauce is a total must-have.. creamy, tangy, and addictive.
Highly recommend stopping by if you’re craving a great burger experience.
We tried:
Big Red & the Cheeseburger – Both were juicy, perfectly sauced, and packed with flavour. No unnecessary frills, just great homestyle burgers done right.
Large Tater Tots – Basically adorable mini hash browns—crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. Could easily snack on these all day.
Cookie Dough Milkshake – Thick, creamy, and almost like a Blizzard. The chocolate chips were a bit hard at first, but once it melted a little, it was just right—not overly sweet, just smooth and satisfying.
If you’re looking for classic, well-made burgers and comfort food in a chill setting, Big Al’s is a must-try!
