Since it was such a beautiful day, my two sons and I walked down to Subway to enjoy lunch. I had ordered online and the food was ready shortly after we arrived. My oldest, who is nine, decided he wanted a pizza instead of a sandwich. I told him to get in line, but he was reluctant to stand in line without me. I’ve been encouraging more independence with him lately, so I tried to coax him into going up in line on his own. A nice lady overheard us talking about it and heard me encouraging him to get in line while it was short. The lady kindly told us she would save his spot in line in front of her so that he could still snack on part of his sandwich while waiting. By the time this kind lady’s turn was up, there were a few more people in line. She ushered him over and we stood in line in front of her. She briefly explained to the other customers behind her that she had saved him a spot. The other customers didn’t seem to care or show any bother about it. Once my son started explaining his order to the Subway worker, a middle-aged Caucasian man with glasses and dreadlocks, we could tell he was irritable and frustrated. I assumed it was because a line was forming for the lunch rush, however, once my son reached the end of the line to pay, this employee rudely said something along the lines of, “Are you ready to pay after cutting everyone in line?” At first, I thought he was joking but he was definitely being serious, so I walked over closer to see what was going on, as I had returned to the table with my other son. The kind lady explained that she was fine with him going in front of her in line and had saved him that spot. He was rude and dismissive to her as well. After giving my son his change, he grumpily stated that the pizza would be ready in a bit. The kind lady reaffirmed what I had witnessed, by asking if I had noticed the interaction and she mentioned how rude he had been. My son definitely noticed the way the employee talked down to him and asked why he was so rude to him, but kinder to another adult customer. I told him that no one should ever speak to him that way, regardless of age, and some people will talk down to others, like children, because they think they can get away it. Not today. Do better.

I do believe I may have been the other customer, referred in another review. (Jeff Wilson)
1]. Being on the phone while in line is VERY Rude and Disrespectful. Text the order/list before getting in line – proper etiquette & courtesy.
2]. This store is always clean out front, bathroom, sneeze glass; the chips stocked, soda area cleared of all the sticky/stocked. The smell is awesome. As for staff, most are great but you’ll always have that one. Unfortunately they have to deal with some ‘princesses’ too. If you’re not happy with how much vegs’, tell them instead of complaining later. I always ask for more of some veggie… never been denied. I’m sure this goes for everything else but may cost extra. I eat here when I can & recommend it.

I spend 200 or so a month there . I get off work from a wood mill running a fork lift . Its around a 120 degrees . I stop at river to cool before picking up some food . There new employee starts off with complaining about not haveeing a shirt ( no sing on door for no shirt no service ) .had my service dog with me that goes in to all other stores in town and he complained about that . His attitude was unbecoming and unprofessional. I would not eat there if he is there . Long dread Locks and no hair net had me considered eating else whare any way
This was my got to in harrisburg for a quick meal .Vary disappointing to be treated so poorly by my favorite spot .
I walked out due to his poor attitude and his vulgar behavior.

It’s on me for continuing to come here, but do yourself a favor and just don’t. I live close and am a working widowed mom, so sometimes I’m desperate and need something quick. Today was my 6th pickup order in a row that was absolutely butchered. Last time one of the sandwiches was literally just bread and they forgot to put anything inside the bread. They wrapped bread. This time two of the sandwiches were ordered with all toppings to make it easy and they put two things on each, along with forgetting one of the sandwiches. I once ordered online and when I got there they didn’t have it in their computer. I showed them the order and that the $40 came out of my account, and they did nothing and said I’d have to just order there in person and pay again. At this point it’s comical. And again it’s on me, for continuing to come when I’m in a bind, but I won’t be anymore.

Great service, great food! I opened door to go in, it was like stepping into a sauna. I felt so bad for employees! Maybe they didn’t realize how hot and humid it was, or maybe ac broke?
