Best diner in the country, hands down.

We were # 9 on the wait-list but still got seated within about ten minutes of arriving. The server was both incredibly efficient and incredibly helpful. Seriously one of the best servers I’ve ever had.

Food is delicious and inexpensive and exactly what I want out of a diner breakfast. If you go, get the diner stack. Yummmmm.

Merry Ann’s Diner is like In n Out, the place I gotta go when I visit California. If I’m leaving town for a while or coming back after a while, I’d always want to visit Merry Ann’s. I remember the time when spending $14 for 2 people’s lunch at DT location.

We were looking for a late-night dinner, and our search showed this gem was nearby, so we gave it a try. It has the exact feel of a greasy spoon diner and the food is excellent! We unanimously agreed that the country fried steak was good enough to go back for! The gravy was simple but paired perfectly with the country fried steak and the biscuits and gravy – no need to ask for extra, it comes with plenty to finish every last bite! We also ordered the corned beef hash breakfast and while it tasted good, the portion seemed small in comparison to the other meals. The final order was a breakfast skillet and it was gone before anyone else got a chance to try it, so I’m going to say it was delish!

It’s a small, quaint, diner environment – enough seating for the crowd present that evening, but not a ton of seating overall. There were a few counter spots available and it’s someplace I’d be comfortable going alone or with family/friends in small groups. The service was quick and accurate – again, the food was great!

I had left a review four years ago and it was less than stellar. The place has definitely gotten better staffing and is much more efficient. Went there today, the day after Thanksgiving with my parents and brother and received fashion and efficient food and service. Quality of food is mediocre at best. But it’s fast and moderately priced. It’s about time. They actually put some money into this restaurant and clean it up. Nostalgia is one thing, worn out is quite another.

Amazing small town diner! Amazing vibes. They have pancakes 24 hours! Milkshakes! Yummy burgers. What more could you want the prices are dirt cheap and very impressive. They clearly care about the community. For that reason it’s always packed on weekends so I personally prefer to come at night but would recommend nonetheless.

Here’s a NED-style review for Merry Ann’s Diner:

✅ What Works Well
– Classic diner vibes with hearty breakfasts and comfort food staples.
– Fast service and friendly, down-to-earth staff.
– Open late (or 24/7 at some locations), perfect for late-night bites.
– Affordable pricing.

What to Watch Out For
– Décor is a bit dated.
– Can get crowded during weekend brunch hours.
– Food is solid but not gourmet—expect diner-style basics.

Verdict
Reliable, no-frills spot for American diner classics. Great for casual meals, especially breakfast or late-night eats.

It’s a true diner experience in every sense of the word.

We came on a Sunday morning. Very packed but move semi quickly though so you won’t be waiting that long.

Really close quarters. If you’re sitting and eating there’s a high chance that just gonna be someone staring at you and your food

Automatic social pressure to eat fast and leave because everyone is like 3 feet away from you watching your table to see when you’re gonna be done so they can have your spot.

Reasonable prices and a college crowd. Don’t expect much.

The owner operator here seems like a very friendly guy. Eager to please.
