The atmosphere of the restaurant felt very homey and welcoming. I loved how there were all sorts of creative bear decorations everywhere. The interior decor was a multimedia design. I saw bear statues carved from wood, framed photos, stuffed toys, paintings, fabrics, maps, the list goes on. Both the dining area and bathrooms were clean. They also had a TouchTunes jukebox to request music on, which was fun!
For food, we ordered the NY steak & eggs and the Shasta Scramble. The Shasta Scramble was the highlight—great flavor, well-mixed ingredients, and a generous portion that was very satisfying. The coffee was also excellent and definitely a plus.
Unfortunately, the NY steak & eggs was disappointing. The scrambled eggs were overcooked and dry, and although the steak was ordered medium-well, it came out overcooked and slightly burned, which took away from the dish.
Overall, the diner has a nice atmosphere and some solid menu items, but the pricing feels a bit high considering the inconsistency in food quality.
This time I tried the meatloaf which was amazing. The family also had the club sandwich and my breakfast item of pancakes. All of which created a second meal to take home for the next day.
The place was not too loud and consistent with other diners. Great food in great service.
* The Food: They say it’s “delicious.” That’s subjective, but implies it’s tasty and well-prepared. Expect solid diner fare.
* The Service: “Friendly and kind” means the staff is attentive and pleasant. No complaints there.
* Location: Sunnyvale. That tells you where to find it.
* Overall: If you want a cute, casual meal with good service and a bear-themed twist, this place is worth checking out. If you’re looking for fine dining or something super trendy, look elsewhere.
Just a heads-up: this is an older location, so don’t expect anything fancy. It’s got more of a cozy, country-home vibe, which honestly adds to the charm.
Overall, great service, great food, and a really welcoming atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back!
