Five Guys—Genuinely Good People Making Genuinely Good Burgers.
I’d heard some chatter about Five Guys and was craving a burger, so I decided to check out this NYC staple near Bryant Park on 6th Avenue.
The guy at the counter could not have been nicer as he walked me through how Five Guys handles its biz-ness!
I ordered a double bacon cheeseburger and a vanilla milkshake. While waiting, I noticed something refreshing: every single employee had a genuine smile on their face. Not the dead-eyed corporate zombie smile you see at most chains, but actual happiness. They were engaged, laughing with customers, working efficiently without looking miserable.
As my burger was being prepared, the gentleman at the register told the staff to throw in a heaping portion of fries—free of charge. Just because. That kind of gesture sticks with you.
First, the fries: absolutely delicious. Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, perfectly salted. They just hit in all the right ways.
The burger was fantastic—two juicy patties cooked perfectly, bacon that was actually crispy (not limp and sad), cheese melted just right, and a bun that held everything together without falling apart mid-bite.
The milkshake was outstanding. Thick, creamy, actually tasted like real vanilla instead of whatever chemical concoction most places serve.
I plan on visiting often. It’s rare to find a chain that’s so well-run, understands what customer service is about, and actually seems to give a damn about the people walking through the door.

I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with the toppings mayo, lettuce, tomato, onion, and bacon.
What I received was only the basic sandwich, without any of the toppings I asked for.
On top of that, the service was very poor and no one tried to solve the problem.
Very disappointing experience. I do not recommend this place.

I am writing to share that Destiny is wonderful. We came in for a quick bite before a show, my boyfriend loves five guys so we decided to grab his favorite for his birthday dinner. I just mentioned casually it was his birthday and she went above and beyond to take care of his meal. He’s not someone who loves his birthday but this really made him so happy and surprised. Destiny definitely has exemplary customer service and we so appreciated it on this day! I hope if she isn’t a manager already that she is considered for that role. As someone who manages people myself, she has great qualities of someone who knows how to put the customer first and give them a wonderful, memorable experience. We will be back to this location!

This place is now OPEN. The burger was absolutely delicious albeit on the smaller side. However the fries were heavily over salted and generally speaking just not very tasty. The price is very high at $16 for a burger, fries, and a drink. The place is on the smaller side and was mostly full with a minimal line. Expect to wait at least 10 minutes for your food and longer if there’s a lot of people in front of you. The burger was comparable to Shake Shack but my personal opinion is that Shake Shack is just a little bit better. IF you care about your health at all… do yourself a favor and do not look at the nutrition information for this food. This burger is definitely worth a once in a while splurge to eat something that melts in your mouth.

The staff were friendly, service was good despite it being busy. The burger was really nice and no complaints from my party of 4.
Chips were slightly over salted, but I wish there were other sauce options than just ketchup.
I.marked it down for being dirty. Really dirty. They need more staff as thr kitchen staff were busy and working hard,but no one to tidy anywhere else. The toilet (restroom) was covered in water and paper debris. The dining area was littered with bits of food and packaging that doesn’t get a tidy until closing time.
But the food was good.

FABULOUS BREAFAST, FIVE GUYS BURGER breakfast! The night before i was be in a hurry trying to hit as many Zora sales before the stores closed. I ran into five guys just to get some french fries to munch on and decided to get a double burger with everything. After shopping and filling up on the fries The be burger was left for breakfast. room temperature and ready to be devoured it was FABULOUS! Five Guys burger for breakfast.
