I recently stopped by Avon Nutrition after running out of Liftoffs, which I typically use to make my teas at home. I haven’t been inside a nutrition store in a while, but I’ve always had positive experiences in the past—until this visit.
When I entered the store, I wasn’t greeted by anyone, which isn’t necessarily a problem, but the overall atmosphere felt unwelcoming. A man working on a laptop in the corner looked up at me without saying a word. Based on his demeanor and position in the store, I assumed he might be the owner. The woman behind the counter also made direct eye contact with me but didn’t acknowledge me either.
Curious about the “Super Mega Tea” on the menu, I asked what it was. The woman behind the counter explained that it’s a regular Mega Tea with an extra scoop of NRG. I mentioned that I’m not a fan of the taste of NRG and requested just a regular Mega Tea instead. Her response—whispering a sarcastic “okay” under her breath—was not only unprofessional but also noticeable enough that another customer chuckled at the interaction.
She then informed me that the Mega Tea already includes NRG, to which I replied that I preferred just a Liftoff. When I received my drink, I could still taste the NRG and it didn’t seem like a Liftoff was included. At that point, I was already frustrated but chose to pay and leave without further comment.
I’ve visited many nutrition stores and had great service, including previous visits to this very location. Unfortunately, this experience was disappointing and not at all in line with the customer service I’ve come to expect.
