We came here for my partner’s birthday while we were in town for a show. Michael B was our server and he was absolutely a delight! We both got the prime rib and it was some of the best prime rib I’ve ever had! The real surprise of the evening was the creamed spinach. One of the best dishes I’ve had in my life! The bathrooms could have used a little more TLC but everything else was superb! If we come back to Portland we will absolutely be back.

This place is a delicious dining experience, which dates back to 1955. It has a beautiful retro interior. There is bar section, which offers nightly musical entertainment. A separate dining room is available as well. The food is delicious, ambiance is cool and customer service is amazing. So, if you’re in the mood for a tasty slice of old school dining, definitely stop in. Check for hours and times of operation and best to make reservations prior to your visit, as it can get busy, especially on weekends. Cheers and Bon Appe’tit!

I have driven by this restaurant for years, but had never been in… until this past weekend for my anniversary. Had a wonderful experience with great service, perfectly cooked prime rib and cocktails. I went with the create your own surf and turf by adding a 6oz. Lobster tail. Will definitely be back!

So what do you do when you are riding in the open air top level of a Hop On Hop Off bus and someone pulls up beside the bus and yells at you that you need to go to Clyde’s? You go to Clyde’s!! We were looking for a place to have dinner anyway, and this seemed like a very strange coincidence. We went to Clyde’s on a weekday and after finally finding it, we could not find a parking space. At least this was a good sign — it’s popular. We finally parked behind the restaurant and asked if this was okay and someone from the staff said yes. We didn’t wait long to be seated and the staff was friendly and helpful with any questions we had. The food was plentiful and delicious. The retro vibe was great. My husband and I were both happy with our food. We only wished we could have stayed for the music that everyone was bragging about. But, alas, we had a long drive back to where we were staying. I don’t know who the guy was that directed us here but, thanks bro!!

What an amazingly great retro dining experience at Clyde’s Prime Rib!
The minute you walk into Clyde’s , you are transported back to the “Rat Pack” days of club dining . From the suit of armor at the hostess stand ( jibes with the faux castle exterior architecture ) to chandeliers to the red mood light in the lounge, the vibes at Clyde’s are just perfect!
We sat in the lounges and were waited on by the personable and knowledgeable Elia ( sp??). I ordered the hanger steak and my dining partner ordered the prime rib. Elia recommended the Caesar salad and the creamed spinach. We were not disappointed. Everything was great starting with the garlicky Caesar salad and the cheesy ,creamy spinach. The hanger steak was perfectly cooked medium rare as was the delicious prime rib.
The prices were reasonable and a good value for the food quality , service and ambiance.
Final take —-Highly recommended for all of the above. Fedoras are optional .

1. Parking is really difficult, no street parking or parking garages nearby. The parking in the front of the restaurant is usually full

2. Appetizers were decent, creamed spinach was 50% spinach and 50% plate. Mushrooms are really good.

3. Steak was interesting, according to this restaurant they “serve it on the cooler side”, I have been to hundreds of steakhouse throughout my life and this is definitely a unique thing. Highly recommend if you like your steaks on the cooler side

4. Broccoli was genuinely bad, it was soaked in oil, so much so that I could not taste the vegetable but I could squeeze out a lot of oil.

5. Everything else was standard, nothing special, nothing terribly egregious, but not worth the hassle of parking, or the overall cost.

2/2 times food has been 10/10. I love the cozy old school steak house style. Highly recommend the wedge salad. They also have daily happy hour 3-6 with food and drinks, the Manhattan and espresso martini are good! Also the creme brulee is so good, I want two for myself!

A classic worth trying!
After a 15 mile long hike, a prime rib steak was definitely a treat. Also ordered a the lobster Mac and cheese and certainly could not pass up the French onion soup. In the bar area, there was a live band performing Sunday night (a night before Labor Day). It was a nostalgic experience with traditional meals.
