This place should really drop the “E” from their name and call it “bogus alley”. My mom and I stopped by around 4pm for a late lunch/early dinner which is an hour before they close. It was not very inviting walking in, their screen door was propped open so the whole place was cold and freezing so even though there was a small bar counter to sit at we decided to take our food to go. That was just one of the things that turned us off from even wanting to stay and eat. We got to the counter and were looking at the menu to decide what we wanted to eat, we were never greeted even though a girl was right there at the counter. She was too busy talking to clearly a friend at the counter while we were standing there trying to order. When she finally acknowledged us and asked what we wanted we both said we were going to do the box lunch. Out of 5 side choices, (which I had really wanted to try the cole slaw or red potato salad) I was told they only had pasta salad. An hour before they close and they were out of sides? Ridiculous so we were both stuck getting pasta salad that we didn’t want. They were supposed to have UTZ chips and instead only had Cape Cod kettle chips. The picture on their menu for the box lunch shows a whole pickle but instead we got spears, which were all mushy in the middle and gross. They also only wrapped our pickles in paper so the juice leaked all over my wrap. Our sandwiches weren’t wrapped in anything and neither were our cookies, so everything was already just thrown in the box but the girl proceeded to stick our boxes in the bag sideways so a lot of my veggies had fallen out of my wrap and it was just an unpleasant mess to eat. The cookies tasted straight up like they went to walmart and bought a tray of them. My wrap also had like no garlic aioli or veggies on it, I ended up having to remake the whole thing and use my ingredients. What a waste of $17 for the portion sizes. Huge thumbs down

Bogues Alley is truly the heart of my lunchtime routine. What can I say that hasn’t already been said? The staff always greets me like old friends, and they genuinely take care of you in a way that feels rare these days. Amanda, the owner, is one of the hardest-working people I’ve ever met—she stands by her quality, ensures every guest is satisfied, and creates an atmosphere that’s as inviting as it is delicious.

The menu is full of great options, and the daily specials keep things fresh so I feel like I can enjoy Bogues almost every day of the week. While my go-to is a semi-simple turkey wrap with lots of added veggies and horseradish and mayo, I’m also a big fan of the Caprese—with prosciutto added, it’s amazeballs.

I’ve been coming to Bogues for years now—at least weekly, often daily—and it remains an absolute staple in my life. Whether it’s a standout special or just the comfort of great people making great food, Bogues Alley never disappoints.

Highly recommend to anyone looking for a welcoming spot with consistently fantastic meals in Westerly.

The atmosphere, the food and especially the people are amazing. We stumbled on our walk around downtown westerly/Pawcatuck. We were so thankful for their hospitality. As far as breakfast sandwiches go, “the bear” was so good! Everything was fresh and I’ve never had anything like it!

We love Bogue’s! I frequent for breakfast and lunch multiple times a week. Great variety of sandwiches, salads, and I love the daily specials and soups! Yum! The staff is friendly and helpful. Also, I tell everyone about Bogue’s catering! They have created delicious food for many events. From wraps and salads, to lemon chicken and amazing sides. You have to try the butternut lasagna, it’s phenomenal!

Place makes a mean sandwich. My favorites are the Rubin and the Cuban. Both are packed with flavor. Cured meats are off the chain. Sauces and toppings always pack a punch. Bread is always warm and chewy. Place is the biiizzzzz niiizzzz.

I would make a point of stopping here every week, sometimes even multiple times in a week to go get lunch for about a year. Over this time I have seen a steady decline in quality occur. It’s kinda upsetting considering they are convenient, however at the end of the day I will NOT be returning. I don’t want to delve into great detail about their downfalls in the flavor department because its subjective, but I will if prompted. By far the biggest factor in driving me away is the steady increase on prices I keep seeing, along with portions getting MUCH smaller to the point that you can actually tell. It was a good deal before these shenanigans. When I get takeout I try to order something that I wouldn’t normally make, Bouges consistently FAILS to check this box with their genre of home cooked style meals. (Excluding thier breakfast pizza). While Bouges may not have an intriguing menu, they at least gave you your fair share of food. Kiss that goodbye. I got robbed for 11$ here and left hungry. See the attached photo for evidence of 11$ worth of Shepards Pie with a soda for scale. This is unacceptable! The tourists in Pawcatuk are what this place is geared for. The greed is visible from their poor business decisions. Pair all this with the fact that I had a hair in my home fries last time (didn’t get them this time.) I’m never coming back or bringing business to this establishment.

My Turkey BLT boxed lunch was good, and the price was resonable.
Overall,
limited indoor seating, and had a lot of things in sight of the common area that could have been stored out of site to make the interior look more like a restaurant. Boxes, drinks not refrigerated made it look messy inside. The garbage was tiny, which caused me to feel a bit of discomfort stuffing my boxed lunch plastic container inside! Staff seemed to know everyone who walked in, and the cashier was friendly. The only thing I personally didn’t enjoy was the bead pudding offered alongside my potato chips. It had raisins and to much cinnamon no glaze or topping so it was very dry!

This place is not a good choice for lunch IMO. The menu is a chalk board in small letters and has no pricing on it? Was going to get a bag of chips but when I asked for a coke I was told what ever they have in the cooler is all they have; the coke was in the employee only cooler and that is not for sale to customers. In a business like this I feel the way you pay the rent is to sell things? I could be wrong? I really can only say that wouldn’t recommend it nor would I come back.

I want to add that the owner sent me friend request on Facebook probably to harass me, I blocked her. If someone chooses the hospitality industry at a minimum try and be hospitable, not passive aggressive and not argumentative. One final piece of advice is that the place makes money on what they sell, if you don’t sell soda and have three empty coolers you are losing money as those cost money to keep cool, duh.

I upped my food rating after eating the sandwich but I still wouldn’t go back there.
