The salmon sashimi (belly) was excellent — fresh, clean tasting, and cut with proper thickness to showcase the fat marbling. Texture was smooth and buttery, exactly what you want from quality salmon.
The California Maki was well executed. Avocado was perfectly ripe, rice seasoning was balanced, and the roll structure was tight and neat. Technically sound and satisfying.
The Tacos Ebi Crispy was a highlight — great textural contrast, crisp exterior, flavorful sauce pairing, and well-composed plating.
We also tried the Mandarin Salmon Ebi Roll, which offers a lighter, refreshing variation in texture compared to traditional rolls.
Service deserves special recognition. Jayden was attentive and professional, checking in multiple times to ensure everything was correct and comfortable. His hospitality elevated the overall dining experience.
Would return for the sashimi and service alone.
This restaurant use both paper menu and online menu, sometimes the internet reception is just bad.
The restaurant has good Japanese style atmosphere, and the servers/waiters has good attitude. The restaurant is also clean and hygienic.
For the price, it is matched up well with its taste and portion. Everything there has good value.
For the private dining room, there is room for your feet to maintain normal sitting posture. You don’t need to sit like a Japanese.
The food was absolutely delicious — every dish was beautifully presented and full of flavor. I especially loved their sushi tacos. Its their specialty and definitely you need to try it.
Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I’ll definitely be coming back again. Highly recommended for anyone looking for great food, excellent service, and a welcoming environment!
Secondly, the food was superb. The ramen was very delicious (seriously! loved the umami taste) , the salmon taco was on point (recommended to top with wasabi), and their volcano maki was creamy and delicious.
Lastly, loved their design & restaurant’s atmosphere!
The only downside during our visit was that our seating was kinda close to the next tables , so we couldn’t really have much conversation during the meal without being overheard.

The staff (Syafiq) at Ishi Restaurant were very friendly, attentive, and professional. He explained the menu clearly and made sure we were comfortable throughout the dining experience. Really top-notch service! Definitely will repeat again! Highly recommended if you’re in Miri
The prices are slightly on the higher side, but you definitely get what you pay for in terms of quality and experience. Highly recommended if you’re looking to treat yourself to excellent Japanese cuisine in a refined setting!
My issue is with the service. Walked in during a weekday and was informed that it was full house so we were seated at the huge communal table in the middle of restaurant. That was fine. But while we were seated there, staff constantly ignored us until we had to walk over to them and asked them to serve us. The staff who served us were also not friendly and sounded annoyed. The price we paid definitely covers the service and this is not the level of service I was expecting from such a “high-end” sushi restaurant. Not sure if it’s because of how we dressed up – we turned up in just plain shirts and jeans because we weren’t planning to eat here initially – or they’re just trained to treat customers with reservations better. Another group of people who were seated with us was also ignored by the staff.
