Oct 5th 2025 – Catered food – ready on time, penne sauce and meatballs were excellent. We also purchased 4 different pizza’s and they gave us a 5th for free. We order there regularly and the quality of food is consistently delicious. The chef even walked the food out to my car – great old fashioned service that you rarely see today – certainly a favorite place of ours for many years –

We moved here last summer and have been going to AJs ever since. My kids love the pizza, and buffalo tenders. And I am quite obsessed with the tiramisu. Everyone that works here is completely lovely and helpful, never had a bad experience.

Grandfather and I would always swing by to get the cooked salami grinder and a nice cold coke. He grew up in this town and ajs was always our go to place before we headed back home to st.louis. sadly he passed away last month but this is my most cherished memory with him.
Update: Back in town today and ordered my grinder. Restaurants under a new owner but it looks the same and the grinder is as wonderful as I can remember. The young lady at the register was such a sweet heart. Talked for a bit and told her how my grandfather and I would always come in and eat. She told my mother and I goodbye and blew a kiss. This is why I never want to leave higganum everyone’s family there. but sadly I will be heading back home. Bless the town of higganum and the wonderful community. We will miss you and hopefully we will be back soon.

Usually got good food from here but totally disappointed in the salad I got tonight. Was like it was made 3 days ago. Meat was slimy, cheese was dried out, lettuce was brown. Yuck!

Ordered the same AJs gourmet pizza we have ordered for years. It was not the same and really terrible. Completely dried out and overcooked. Missing cheese. I cannot believe whomever took this out of the oven thought it was right to box and give it to a customer. Frozen pizza would have honestly been better. Called to politely ask if there was a change in the cook or new ownership as the pizza was completely different. Was told new owner. Then they told me to ask for cheese next time, however there had always been cheese on this pizza so I think they have the recipes incorrect. No offer to refund or fix. Won’t be going back.

First time ordering here. I ordered a large cheese pizza and small pepperoni pizza which was over priced $32.00, Looking at the prices online (afterwards) I didn’t understand how it cost that much. The pizza was a very thick crust which we prefer a thinner crust. The cheese seemed very processed and was bland. The sauce wasn’t terrible, okay flavor.
