For starters, the hostess who greeted us was nice and had a smile. That’s always a plus when you first walk into somewhere you haven’t tried yet. She also didn’t give us an attitude when we asked for a booth <3 She was very nice about it. Our waiter was attentive and patient. He was also quite knowledgeable (thankfully) and when he wasn’t sure about something, he would go ask instead of just say “I don’t know”.
It was quite loud inside, but it’s a sports themed restaurant with massive TVs and projectors all over, so it’s to be expected. The booths are decently tall, so it gave the illusion of more privacy, which was nice. It was kept very clean inside and all of the staff were pretty on top of everything. Bathrooms weee also quite clean.
Our food was amazing! Full of flavor with fresh ingredients. Large portion sizes with a decently low price. They don’t over charge for drinks either. The kids meal Mac n cheese was just a basic Mac n cheese, but it works lol.

The only reason I give the Boulder Tap house 4 out of 5 stars is the prices of the food. Their menu if terrific! Lots of different, high quality burgers that have very different taste flavors. Today I had the Brown Suguar bacon burger and it was definitely as sweet as it sounds. My partner had the Garlic Aoil burger and it was a wonderful blend of garlic that did not over where your pallet. Their beer selection is top notch along with their cocktail menu. This is very much a sports bar with lots of TVs hanging on the wall but it doesn’t take away from the atmosphere. However, charging 11 bucks for some cheese curds is almost criminal. The burgers are priced ok, 15 dollars minimum. I personally have not had anything besides their burgers but my partner had the fish tacos and said they were great!

The food and atmosphere here is flawless. Music isn’t too loud. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Seating is comfortable and plentiful. No complaints. Will definitely be coming here again in the future!

Stopped in for the first time to watch the Iowa State basketball game. We were pleased to get a table immediately. There were many, many tvs which enabled us great viewing no matter where we sat. The beer list was huge and we were offered samples before ordering. THANK YOU because we like trying new beers (our son had a pickle beer!) Our daughter really enjoyed her dirty soda. We started with fried cheese cubes and wings for apps. Both were outstanding (and we are snobs of both). Our service was OUTSTANDING thanks to Wyatt. He’s probably one of the best servers we’ve encountered. We never waited for anything and he anticipated our every need. Be sure to have your fries seasoned with spices of your choice. Loved that option! Boulder has a very unique burger menu. I had the Jalapeno popper burger and it was not spicy at all (could have been hotter).
My son loved the special… Pot roast sandwich on sourdough. Great choice for bar food and sports vibes! Want to go back and try some of the other apps and dishes.

I had such a wonderful time at Boulder Tap House! Jes, our server, was an absolute delight, she kept us laughing and was so kind, checking on us frequently. Her food recommendations were spot on, and choosing them turned out to be a great decision, so yummy. She truly made our experience there even better and more memorable.

They sat our party of 27 in a very timely manner. Our waitress, Jenna G, was amazing at keeping everything organized and had a great attitude the whole time. The food came out so fast and was delicious! Overall, a great experience, would recommend.

Service was outstanding, especially our waitress Andrea! She was on top of everything, I never felt uncared for. She was very polite and quick. That really made the overall experience so amazing. I was just so impressed by everything about the restaurant and especially her. Defiantly will be going back so many more times.

Our server was amazing! Ambiance was family friendly. Our food was really good,they didn’t disappoint. The cheese curds & shrimp were delicious. However the very best part was the service, absolutely the best in Ames! Our waitress was very attentive and kept checking on us. and Hands down the most excellent customer service in Ames. We had the surf and turf burger & the cheese curd burger with jalapeños. It was our first time there, due to how friendly & welcoming the service is we will definitely keep going back!

Really versatile sports bar/ beer house for families, buddies, etc. Tons of TVs & great food & atmosphere without chaos. Had dill pickle ranch wings & avocado fries topped off later w Reese’s PB cup chocolate shake… ALL was very good & service great as well.

A very casual place with a decently sized parking lot. We came on an Iowa State basketball game day for lunch, so that’s definitely our fault for the slow/mediocre service.
I loved my carnitas street corn bowl. It was a great size and the proportions of beans, pico, carnitas, corn, and sauce were perfect to the amount of rice given. The leftovers also tasted great. (the picture I took didn’t do serve justice, I was so hungry and just wanted to eat)
Boyfriend got the chicken version of the street corn bowel & he agreed that the carnitas version is had a better taste.
I would come back again. 🙂
PS: other items pictured was guac & my mocktail. Guacamole was ok! Nothing special.
