Thought it was pretty good, unlike recent reviews. You can ask for lamb kubidah spicy and with hot sauce on the side. Dill rice is nice. We received a complementary dessert at the end which was nice. The food was more than enough and we got boxes to go. We thought all the food was good. I don’t think this deserves only 3/5 stars. We got hummus, baba ghanoush, herb bread (pesto like), and chicken and lamb kebabs which were all good. They also have a Pakistani dinner menu. We got the biryani, butter chicken/naan, and veg samosas with tamarind sauce at the end. They were pretty decent, particularly for not being an actual South Asian restaurant.
Service was excellent. There were only 5 active tables but the waiter was very nice.

We were honestly so excited to visit because we grew up going to Reza in Evanston and Oakbrook and saw the “new version” posted all over Instagram. Unfortunately, what was shown online was completely inaccurate compared to what we experienced in person.
The food options were extremely limited, and the fruit was old and soggy. When we mentioned to the manager, Mohammad, that everything on Instagram looked very different from what was actually being served, he responded, “Why would I put all the nice things out when we barely had 12 people reserved?” That response alone was very disappointing.
One thing we loved about Reza growing up was the dessert. All they offered was extremely old and browning fruit platter. The brown dessert balls tasted like nothing but a faint rose syrup, most of the food was completely flavorless, and the only dish with flavor — the chicken curry — was overwhelmingly spicy. The quality of the food was very cheap overall, and the “meat” was mostly bones and cartilage.
We went as a party of four, and there were only two other tables of two people each. We overheard other guests complaining as well, and the overall mood in the restaurant was clearly negative. The female staff provided great customer service, but the manager, Mohammad, was extremely defensive, cut us off mid-conversation, and even put the owner on the spot after feedback. He openly stated he was refusing to change anything.
We are a big foodie group that loves spending on quality dining experiences, but paying $171 for four people for low-quality, old, and poorly prepared food was unacceptable. I truly cannot recommend this place, especially for Ramadan — there are far better iftar options elsewhere.

Lamb kebab juicy tender charred to perfection and not overly smoky or burnt even as it appears in the photo of the takeout platter.
Chicken kebabs are never the wrong option here as they are always tender and juicy with healthy portions as you can see this is dinner for 3 easy. Love to Iranian people and their authentic cuisine

This is one of two locations of the finest Persian food in the Chicago metro area. The other one is of the same name and is in Andersonville in the city. The restaurant was originally started by and for a group of Iranian cab drivers who craved the authentic food of the old country and couldn’t find it in Chicago, so a small take-out streetside pop-up operation was set up to service the 24×7 cabbies. Word got around about this wonderful food though and the place just exploded, and spread to multiple locations, some of which closed. All the food is excellent and prepared in the traditional Persian manner. If you’re new to Persian cuisine, then start with the Sultani kabob. In Ancient Persia the ruling Sultan, in order to show he was a fair and just ruler was expected to eat some of the rich people’s food, and some of the poor people’s food, and in the case of prepared beef, this is that dish. Have it once, and you’ll be hooked for life and get cravings for it and become a Reza’s Regular yourself.

Food is definitely not what it used to be. Not sure if it’s a new chef or just changes with new ownership. Ordered takeout and was told 30 min. I waited in my car for 55 min food still wasn’t ready- looked like they’d forgotten about the order. Regardless, was looking forward to iftar- Rezas was a go-to. But disappointed in the food. The soup has a premade can taste. Dill rice doesn’t seem to have dill like before. And the hot sauce we used to get multiple containers of and finish- didn’t even use a few spoons from the 12oz container. Don’t see us going back sadly.

Just had our first experience at the newly reopened Reza’s Restaurant buffet and it was an amazing meal. All of the food was perfectly cooked (the cubed chicken kabobs were especially juicy) and the baklava was excellent. We also ordered the feta & herbs appetizer and the feta was the freshest I’ve had since visiting Greece over a year ago. This was a wonderful dining experience with impeccable service and I’m glad they were able to reopen under new management. I’m already looking forward to our next visit!

We were here ordered food, took along time to get the food. Another table came in a half hour after us and got there appetizers and meal before ours. Food was salty. This plate is suppose to have 6 shrimp there is 4 he told me they must have ran out. And walked away.. they did take off for the missed shrimp. But I would not go back there again.

Ignored us for 20 minutes.
We asked for 3 separate checks, waiter said sure but then at the end acted like he had no idea what we were talking about.

Reza has a phenomenal Sunday Buffet. I didn’t know they reopened 10 months ago. Let me just tell you, whoaaaa, its too good. I appreciate they keep the food very fresh by putting just enough as needed. The lamb, chicken, kebab, rice, hummus, flat bread, homemade baklava, fresh hot tea w/milk. They have blessed hands to make the food like this! Thank you Rezas to make me very happy!
