Tantan Ramen was a bit underwhelming for me. My friends enjoyed their chicken miso ramen, though. Sushi was really nice and the presentation was superb. The tempura was really good as well. The Passion In Osaka drink was nice but could make use of a bigger glass for its price. They could also provide service water like how it is in Japan. Service was good, but took a while before the food arrived. Staff could make the place more welcoming by smiling a bit more. Ambience was very nice, very laidback and very high-end Japanese restaurant with a relatively reasonable price. The place was full on a Friday but it didn’t appear cramped or chaotic. It was a my first time, but my friends’ second and they’re raving about it. Unfortunately, it wasn’t the case for me but I might give it a second shot. And oh, the free valet parking was a plus. The area is a nightmare for parking space.

I had heard so much about this restaurant for a long time. My friend Shadi, who happens to be the owner, was always posting stories about it, and every time I saw them, I told myself I need to visit one day. I just never really planned it.
Then one day, completely by chance, I was in the area. I opened the map, saw Kaizu on the map, and told myself, this is the moment. I walked in with no expectations other than “let’s explore”, and what happened next honestly surprised me.
I asked them to recommend the best of the best, and that’s exactly what I got. The experience was fantastic from the first minute: the vibe was warm and inviting, the atmosphere had this strong, positive energy, and every single bite felt different.
The fish in particular, Black Cod, was on another level, each piece had its own unique taste and texture. It genuinely made me feel like all the fish I’d had before belonged to a completely different category.
Even the soup was crafted with so much attention to detail, and the rice was just perfect, everything was thoughtful, balanced, and intentional.
And then came the cheesecake. They recommended it, and I’m so glad they did. With the first bite, I felt like I was transported to another world. I usually avoid very sweet desserts after a meal, but this one changed something in me. It was sweet, yes — but elegant, refined, and unforgettable. I honestly think I might reconsider my dessert rules after this.

The sushi rolls are excellent, enhanced by the dramatic presentation. The grilled salmon rice bowl was less impressive though. It was a rather small portion of salmon, and also too thinly sliced.
