The greeter was very welcoming and helping us understand the menu. Soon as we sat down ALL the staff came right up and had a genuine conversation felt very warm. We ordered the caprese salad 10/10 and the octopus/mushroom pasta as well as the branzino fillet everything was 10/10!! The service! The food and the atmosphere great.

The worst service experience during our 9-day trip in France — rushed, rude, and borderline discriminatory.

We visited Le Stanley and were extremely disappointed — not with the food, which was decent, or the other waiters, who were polite — but with one specific male waiter with slicked-back hair whose behaviour was shockingly unprofessional.

From the beginning, he was unfriendly and cold towards us. Perhaps because we don’t speak French? But if that’s the reason — why run a restaurant in a tourist area at all? If you’re going to discriminate against non-French-speaking travellers, maybe just put up a sign: “Tourists who don’t speak French are not welcome.” We were polite and respectful the entire time, yet were treated with arrogance and hostility.

The service overall felt extremely rushed, as if they were desperate to turn tables quickly. Even before we had dessert, this waiter came over without a word and removed our water glasses and drinks — which still had about one-third left. He didn’t even ask whether we had ordered dessert. Were we being cleared out just to flip the table faster?

When we reminded him we hadn’t finished, he gave us a cold look and walked away. Later, when we asked for another bottle of water, he slammed it onto the table and left without a word — completely disrespectful.

Again, the food was okay and the rest of the staff were fine. But this one waiter’s behaviour left a terrible impression and made this our worst dining experience in France.

Not recommended if you expect to be treated with basic courtesy — especially as a tourist.

Food was very disappointing and the service was extremely rude. This place feels like a complete tourist trap. They charged us 10 euros for water. They also claim their pasta is freshly made and even say “I’ll make it fresh for you” when taking your order. However, when we received the bill, there was an extra 5 euros added for « fresh pasta », something that was never clearly explained.

On top of that, we saw people with reservations being forced to wait over 15 minutes because the restaurant was “fully booked.” What’s ironic is that when we were just walking by, they stopped us and tried hard to convince us to eat there, and we didn’t even have a reservation. It seems like they just want to pack in as many customers as possible without respecting those who actually booked ahead.

I would strongly recommend avoiding this place.

Instead, I highly recommend Le 31, just a short walk away. Their pasta was genuinely fresh, beautifully presented, and the service was excellent.

We had a wonderful dinner at Le Stanley.
Service people Hassan and Patrick were amazing.
Thanks for the good chat.
We had Niçoise salad, fresh tagliatelle (+2€ on top of menu prices), Provence white wine, Lemon sorbet, chocolate fondant. All were tasty. Definitely a place to go and have good dinner.

We visited Stanley for lunch and had an excellent meal, seafood pastas are incredible. What stood out more than the food was the exceptional service of the restaurant crew, they were all very helpful, friendly and professional especially Patrick who went above and beyond to make sure we had a memorable experience.

Lovely fresh seafood pasta – as per most places in France you need Teflon fingers to peel your seafood and eat your meal while hot. Perfect lemon meringue tart and limoncello and Patrick the waiter was comedy gold. Would recommend.

Outstanding service, with very sincere and friendly waitstaff who have a great sense of humor. They offer helpful advice without being pushy. The flavors of the dishes are rich with the taste of the sea—if you’re looking for those juicy sauces, this is the place for you. The pasta has the perfect consistency, and the seafood is incredibly delicious. Thank you.

The manager knows how to do the business with the tourists. It is not surprise because Menton is a tourist destination.

The food is good. The service is also good and very friendly if you don’t complain about the bill. There are many other tables that have questions on the bill when I was there, and I understand why.
