Great food with good prices. I had the chicken teriyaki bowl and it was fantastic. Sushi rolls were delicious and unsuprisingly had a better California roll then anywhere else. Will be coming back!

Love this sushi joint that owned by real Japanese first came in we felt a bit weird that they want you to sit in a certain zone like all you can eat will sit at the bar with sushi chef, regular dinner with mostly ordering entree with seated on the table and happy hour folks will sit at the front bar area and you are not allowed to order any happy hour items if you are having all you can eat. The sushi was fresh and so far the best fish we had for a long time. Hiro the owner was so friendly and kind he gave my son japanese gummy that he loves the staff are very attentive the price was reasonable. As far as I know he mentioned that this place has been in the business for 30 years. Definitely coming back.

Lovely space with calm ambience, although 2 large television screens detracted from this but did keep my 9yo son happy. Very tasty miso and very good sushi. Prices were fairly standard for Japanese food – we fed a family of 5 for about £70, but I never go for sushi if we are super hungry because it adds up easily. We were there on a Thursday night in August, luckily in time for happy hour, and were seated without waiting. Service was friendly and efficient. I would come again!

I was so grateful they were open Christmas night. I had just spent almost 3 hours driving from Northstar to my Motel in King’s Beach which normally took about 20-25 minutes. The winter storm of December 2021 was a doozy and Hiro Sushi made up for it with a wonderful meal.
I sat down at the Sushi Bar and ordered Caterpillar and Philly rolls. They were amazing and I was pleased to have such an amazing fresh meal of Sushi on Christmas night. I may have started a new holiday tradition for myself.
It is worth noting that the owner is one of only a small number of Sushi Chefs licensed to serve Blowfish a potentially fatal dish. For true lovers of Sushi this is a great place and I highly recommend if you are up in Tahoe with a craving such as I had.

Great food, solid prices and awesome service. Hiroshi and his team always go the extra mile to serve customers. I’ve been going here for years and will continue to be a loyal customer. If you like spicy, try asking for the “nuclear sauce” (chili oil)…it’s amazing.

Made a reservation for a party of 8 and showed up 15min earlier than the agreed time. It was an empty restaurant but the server refused to let us sit anywhere but the bar because they had another party coming in later in the evening. She did not mention that we would be sitting at the bar over the phone and there was clearly more than enough tables at the restaurant for both parties. When asked about sitting at a smaller area across the restaurant, the server mentioned it would be “too hard”. Terrible service, hope the owner hires better help. We went to nearby Koi sushi instead which was absolutely phenomenal.

We’ve been to Hiro Sushi twice (last time was 5 years ago and off season) and had great experiences. The food was delicious, and the service was fine. I think off season vs busy season may color your experience. We will keep coming back as long as it’s here.

Very nice atmosphere and food, usually its not really busy so the service is extremely fast (<10 mins). If you sit at the "bar" you can see how they make the food right in front of you. A really wonderful experience. Also all you can eat is not available anymore, but the prices are fair.
