Bernie’s Oyster House was founded in 1993 at its original location on Savannah’s historic River Street, and expanded to Tybee Island in 2006. We specialize in fresh oysters, with a wide assortment of other seafood dishes and full bar. On Tybee Island, we’re in the heart of the South End business district, a short walk from the Pier, beach and shopping.

We come every year as a family to tybee because of the atmosphere. We came down again today for another reason our daughter’s birthday that passed and went and ate here when I tell you they make you feel at home and family they do. The waitress Laura was so sweet and had great service she didn’t know what today was or anything she just remembered us from a trip before. She made us feel like we use to when we all were here. We always loved there food and I forgot that my order came with tomatoes. Of course being allergic when she brought the food I saw and was just going to let my husband have it. Her and the chief made me another order and had it ready in no time. They were great. They apologized but it wasn’t there fault it was mine. When I say I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone I would and have. We come from Chattanooga and I even tell people there about them. Thank you all for being so great my family and I appreciate it.

Great place!!! We walked in and this place was great!! We did drinks and appetizers and they were awesome!!! We order gator bites. Crab bites, hush puppies and boom boom shrimp!! The margaritas and Bloody Mary was awesome!!!

We have been to Tybee 3 times. This time at Bernie’s , Lauren makes the best drinks on the island and is an Awesome bartender and waitress!! We have been here 3 times on this trip and have 2 more weeks to go and will come back! Great drinks and food is Awesome!

After a long 5-hour haul from Atlanta, we rolled onto Tybee craving one thing: fresh oysters. With “oysters” in the name, Bernie’s was calling our name.
Our server was fantastic—attentive, friendly, and quick to rave about their Bloody Marys. Here we go again, I thought. Another server hyping up their Bloody Marys. Let me be the judge of that.
And judge I did. Verdict? Bernie’s makes the best Bloody Marys on Tybee. Period. They use their own homemade mix—bold move, because if you’re a true Bloody Mary fanatic, house mixes can be hit or miss. But this one? Absolute hit. Packed with flavor, perfectly balanced, and worth every sip.
Pair that with a dozen fresh oysters and you’ve got the ultimate Tybee experience. As a longtime Zing Zang loyalist, I don’t say this lightly: Bernie’s, you’ve officially converted me. Hats off to you, Mr. Bernie.

Tabitha was an awesome server. She was very polite and refilled our drinks when they were low. She also provided some local insight. The food was great. Chees Burger and Cheesesteak. Fries were piping hot as well as the sandwiches.

Had the pleasure of trying this establishment today and I thoroughly enjoyed it! The server/bartender was amazing! I love good customer service and he definitely delivered it.
