88 Bao Bao in Rancho Cordova is a convenient spot for families looking for Chinese food and soup dumplings. We came with the kids and they really loved the xiao long bao. They were hot, flavorful and had a good broth. The sautéed garlic green beans were another winner and had great seasoning.
Some dishes could use a bit more flavor. The chili oil wontons had good texture but needed more zest. The chow mein was on the mild side and the popcorn chicken could have been crispier.
Overall we would come back for the xiao long bao and the green beans. The restaurant had fast service, was kid friendly and a clean dining area which made it easy for a family meal. If you are looking for soup dumplings or Chinese food in Rancho Cordova this place is worth trying, especially with kids.

We had 88 BaoBao at the Livermore store several times, and this is our 1st time at this location.
Somehow, the taste of food here isn’t the same as the experience we had before. Asked for sliced ginger to go with Xiaolongbao. A little disappointed with the beef noodle soup. Beef rolls are OK.

Food was amazing and gluten free options available too! Only thing that was, that it was freezing cold inside

We have been to MANY dumpling houses and this by far was very low end and basic for the price they make you pay. The service is very unprofessional and extremely lacking on customer appreciation. Along with the fact that most of the staff doesn’t really speak English to provide adequate service to begin with. Upon arrival, the cashier was just sitting at a table on her phone with an extremely irritated and bored demeanor once we walked into the door. Both of the high chairs for babies were dirty from being used. They were sticky, had caked on food, and wet like soup was spilled on them. I asked multiple times for napkins to clean the chair myself which I was just looked at like they didn’t know what I was saying. I ended up wiping the chair down on my own with a microfiber cloth left on their bussing rack. Also the building had a leak in the roof from the rain storms that just happened during the week.
I honestly didn’t like the flavors of the wonton soup. It was extremely bland and kinda flavorless. My husband said he got sick from the his dumplings also. As a family, I don’t feel this place is worth the money for what’s being offered.

Delicious pork xiao long bao and veggie buns! The dumplings were soft but not fragile, the soup flavorful, and the temperature was perfect (not too hot to scald your mouth like some other places I’ve been to).
The veggie bun was very tasty and filling. I’ll definitely come back!

I’d really like their theme but when my food came, I feel like it wasn’t hot enough for me on a cold cold night. My spicy wonton like warm.
I had xlb skin was a bit thin but the wrapping work on it was beautiful
Staff was nice, they gave my kids Christmas inflatable toys and they delivered warmed water despite them having self serve cold water.
Chicken chow mein: it was greasy, but too expensive $14
Spicy wonton: wasn’t spicy, wasn’t hot, tasted sesame sauce in it, but nothing mala
Potstickers: the potstickers arrived hot but never got crunchy
Beef noodle soup: it was solid

Accidentally found 88 Bao Bao on Yelp and would like to try their dishes. The server was brought out the food fast and tasted fresh. This place you have to order at the counter first and grab a table number. The price was reasonable and convenient location. I’ll come back and try other things on the menu.

Delicious chow mein, pot stickers, and fried pork bao. You basically order at the front and get a number. There really isn’t any service to review. Even the to-go boxes and bags are right there for you to grab yourself. We like it, though, because you’re not waiting for someone to come help you.
One order of each item is Enough for two with a meal leftover to take home. I’m glad 88 Bao Bao is now in Sac!

Very impressed! The menu has a lot of different options we went with bbq steam buns, chicken and corn dumplings and fried rice. It was delivered quickly and tasted fresh and great quality. The restaurant is very clean and inviting we will definitely be back to trying something new next time.

We went for lunch on Sunday afternoon around 1pm. The restaurant was almost full but we managed to get a table. We ordered & paid the food at the cashier and got a number. The server brought all the food to our table relatively quick (around 10 mins after ordering). I was impressed with the big portion and the flavor of each dish. The glass window is very interesting for my kid as he could watch how they prepared the wonton & other food.
– wonton in chili oil: the wonton pieces were big. The meat filling was juicy and flavorful. The chili oil was spicy and well seasoned. I wish they gave more sauce as I love it!
– siu mai: it came in 8 pieces. The filling was flavorful and delicious
– bbq pork bun: the buns were big and soft. The bbq pork was delicious.
– chow mien: was just ok for me. The portion was very generous. The flavor was good & the noodle was cooked perfectly but it was nothing special.
We love it and we already came back for the second time & planning to go back whenever we crave for good dim sum in the area.
