Good food, but service was subpar. My red snapper was cooked well, although my husband wasn’t a fan of his meal. Our server seemed unsure about the restaurant’s offerings, often responding with ‘they don’t have that’ without checking. However, when I asked him to confirm with the bar about a drink, he was able to magically produce it. Hopefully, he’s just new and will improve with time.

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. My husband had the ribeye on the hot sizzling tile with garlic butter. I had Paella. Service was excellent. We enjoyed our meal. Only one word of caution, parking maybe an issue.

This was my third visit, had the grilled prime rib. It cooked to perfection and delicious !! Service was very good. It tends to get loud but you can still have a conversation. We were a party of 8 and three shared the paella Valenciano and still some home!!

It’s been a while since I came here. Everyone enjoyed their meal. My Gambas were ok. Nothing spectacular. But the fish plates , the othered kept raving about it. Our server was very attentive and had our to go order ready when we left. It wasn’t crowded yet for a Sunday.

My wife, son and I drove 3 hours out of our way to go there. The food was phenomenal and Ari (sp) was great! He was so great with my six years old son.

One thing that disappointed me is that the credit card fee should be bold on the menu — it added about $50.00 to our bill. Even with that, I would highly recommend Solar do Minho to everyone!

My friends and i were excited to try this place however the excitement lasted about 20 minutes into the meal. I will first start with the pros: the calamari was good and the sangria was delicious. The cons: numerous. The fish meal was a cesspool of food with bland fish. The meat was greasy and not flavorful. The filet was OK but the skirt steak was absolutely atrocious. Skirt steak should be thin and tender but it was truly disgusting, the octopus was absolutely horrible bland and had to be sent back. The best part of the meal was the bread. Never will come back.

I come to this restaurant all the time, and it never fails to bring me peace. The food is comforting and consistently excellent, the atmosphere is calm and welcoming, and it’s the kind of place where you can just relax and enjoy the moment. Truly my little sanctuary in the city.

Very nice atmosphere. Rodizio was excellent with a nice selection of meats and even a little dessert (won’t ruin it for u). Self-parking was alittle difficult but they have valet. Sangria was off the hook! Nice find.

Everything was great! I really enjoyed the shrimp in garlic sauce. The paella was good, but a little more salt would have been perfect. The fried calamari was also good and the portion size was great for sharing. I also really liked the virgin pina colada as it wasn’t overly sweet. The service was amazing! Also got the Rodizio and that was just okay.

So sad that I have to write this review. The food was amazing, service was great and the atmosphere was wonderful. Why the one star review then?

I had no issues with the service, until it was time to pay for our food. Me and another guest took care of splitting the bill, and I covered the tip with my credit card.

As we’re getting ready to leave, one of the servers (who was not our server Sirley, and who was not our server at any point during our time eating there) comes over to let me know that the tip had to be paid in cash, not card. And the look of shock in the eyes of the some of the servers/employees when I walked over to the group of them and pointed to one of the bills they had printed out for our table, and it showed the difference in paying for the meal in credit versus cash. Which is why I didn’t care if I used my card and got an extra service fee charged on it. I was happy, full and ready to go.

I thought that was strange, as it shouldn’t matter if I paid the tip in cash or credit. Also, there’s no rules that I (or anyone at our table) was aware of, in regards to having to pay tips only in cash. Instead of making a big scene and arguing, I had them refund the tip back to my card, gave them cash and left in disgust.

If something would’ve been said as the check was being placed on our table, then I would’ve happily put cash down for the tip instead of paying with my card. The lack of professionalism and courtesy in that moment, is what made the overall experience go from wonderful to irrelevant.

Definitely won’t go back, nor recommend this place to anyone until management fixes that blatantly screwed up, and underhanded way that some of its employees chooses to do business.
