I had pretty much sworn off Denny’s entirely within the past 10 years. We happened to stop into this particular location due to bad roads on I65 and thought we’d give the salt trucks a chance to get in front of us. We walked in and were immediately greeted by a pleasant and friendly host. Our server greeted us and had a cup of coffee in my hand within moments of arriving. The food….. wow. I had the veggie omelet and it was packed full, so good. Unexpected, because of past experiences at other locations. My husband really enjoyed the country fried steak and eggs. His only note was that the hash browns were a bit over done. I didn’t disagree, but feel this is also preference and everything else was so nice that it could be overlooked. All in all a nice stop on our travels home from a weekend getaway.

My friend and I absolutely LOVE Scarlet. She is so amazing. She’s very on top of everything, and handles tough situations very well. We had gotten her the first few times and she was lovely. Then we got seated with a waitress named Pamela I think, she was newer at the time but I wasn’t very happy with the service. After that experience I started to request to be seated in Scarlets section! We come every other Sunday and Scarlet always remembers what we order down to a T. Love her so much!

Tonight we had Brooklyn as our server and she was fabulous. Not only was she sweet even though I was being picky, she made sure to keep drunks full and check on us regularly. And to top it off, it was the 1st time walking in and being comfortable because it wasn’t freezing! Always a plus when I don’t have to eat with my jacket on.

If I could give a negative star it would definitely happenAbsolutely Horrible Experience Unsafe and Unprofessional On December 20,2025, my boyfriend and I had an extremely upsetting experience at the Denny’s in Scottsburg, Indiana.My boyfriend was served undercooked chicken that was raw. When we politely asked for it to be cooked properly, and even sent it back 2-3 times we were met with attitude from both the waitress and the cook instead of a simple apology. Or even asked my boyfriend if he would like something else instead. All they kept saying was they weren’t arguing with us when my boyfriend and myself self weren’t arguing at all with them all my boyfriend said was the chicken wasn’t cooked throughly. Our issues didn’t stop there our donut order was wrong, and we were going to be charged incorrectly. When I asked the cook for his name so I could address the issue with management ,he refused. Which is the only reason I took a photo to identify him later when speaking with an actual manager.At that point, the cook falsely claimed to be a manager, when the waitress said he was the manager, escalated the situation unnecessarily, and even called the police on us simply for taking a picture.We asked for our bill so we could leave, but they refused to provide it and told us we better leave.We were then escorted out and issued a no-trespass notice, despite being calm, polite, and non-disruptive. Although the no-trespassing has since been lifted and we technically can go back, we do not feel comfortable returning.This does nothing to address the unsafe food, poor attitude, or the trauma of having police called on us. I suffer from PTSD, and the situation caused my anxiety to spike severely.When we contacted the franchise afterward, the only response was an offer of free food which does nothing to address the embarrassment, humiliation , fear, and distress we experienced. If you value safe food and being treated with basic respect, avoid this Denny’s location. it is unprofessional, unsafe, and the staff will escalate issues rather than resolve them.
