Ok, when I was looking for a place to stop for food I didn’t have the highest hopes for Icbiban, but mostly I figured I haven’t really ever had bad Japanese food so we went.
It is an unassuming building that may have been an old pizza hut. Wow were we surprised when we entered and met with a very clean, modern aesthetic. The place was beautiful. They had a sushi bar with a sushi chef behind it. The place was immaculately clean.
We were seated in a booth for larger parties since we were a family of 5. Our waiter was amazing. The food prices were way less than I expected. We ordered two hibachi lunch specials (steak ask shrimp), a bento box, 2 shrimp tempura rolls with an extra side of rice. All the food was prepared fantastically. The steak hibachi was tender. Sometimes when you get steak it’s kind of hard and not very good. This steak was amazing. The shrimp was very good too and seasoned nicely. Everyone loved their meals.
Overall, it was a great experience and I would highly recommend trying Icbiban. The outside does not match how great the inside is. Give it a try.

Tonight we tried the Daleville Roll. It was delicious!!! We also had the usual for us. Hibachi steak, chicken and shrimp for the win.

Stopped on the way into town after a quick google search and found this place. The employees were very nice and the food was great! I got the chicken and shrimp hibachi. The veggies had so much flavor; the rest of the dish did as well but the veggie took me by surprise. Will be back!

Loved the sushi and the presentation of our rolls! The wooden ship that took up most of our table had all of our rolls plus an actual orchid blossom. It was gorgeous! The beef gyoza was fire! Great experience!

THIS PLACE IS AMAZING!! It’s so clean and beautiful inside, the service is the best I’ve ever had, and the food is absolutely DELICIOUS. Each dish is plated beautifully and with so much care. The sushi is fresh and fantastic. The hibachi filet mignon melts in your mouth. If you haven’t eaten here, you are missing out on the best food and service in the valley!

It’s a busy place and the staff is hopping non stop didn’t mind the wait for a table probably took about 20 min on a busy Friday night at 6pm we got seated got our drink order in quickly then everting after that took a painfully long time. We kind of felt like the forgotten table with our waitress other waitstaff was very attentive about coming around to their tables our girl was just spread in to many areas I think. By the time our appetizer came our food followed right behind it. Would have liked to eat it in between the 45 min wait for our food. Once food came she never checked back in on us until after we were completely done eating, we had another waiter help us get more white sauce for our meal since we never saw her again. Then waiting way too long for the check had to again ask another staff member to tell her we were ready for the check. So that part was super frustrating but the food itself is absolutely top notch excellent. And the prices are incredibly reasonable. There’s alcoholic beverages that will satisfy any craving tho a cider would be amazing as an option. I would definitely come back and hope I get a different server.

Update 7/31/25 dinner – Service and cleanliness was not up to par. The food was still excellent. Took server a long time to wait on us. Possibly not enough help. Floors felt slick and greasy. We both noticed our shoes sliding on the floor. We will go back because we have liked our prior experiences. Hopefully tonight was just a fluke. Update: Have been back several times since my initial post and the quality of food and service is still 5 stars. Latest visit 4/23/25 and we took 2 friends who had not been to Ichiban before and they loved it…. Dinner for 2 people 5/16/24. Very impressed with the friendly staff. Nice to see people working hard, fast, and trying their best to meet customer expectations. The restaurant is very clean, bright, cheerful. Yasmin was our server. Very attentive and made sure our dining experience was satisfactory. We ordered hibachi shrimp and teriyaki chicken. It came with a salad, broth, vegetables and rice. It was excellent. Large servings so we both had to go boxes. Several customers were celebrating birthdays and the staff had a fun and unique way of recognizing the birthday person. Highly recommend you try Ichiban in Daleville.

The atmosphere is great! I love the lightning on the ceilings, walls and behind the booths. Very modern atmosphere. The service was excellent, seated quickly and our server was great. The food was basically perfect. The sushi took a little while longer than the cooked food but that means it’s actually being handmade. I had sushi, it’s presentation was great and the taste was even better. I don’t remember the name of it but the Mexican style sushi was my favorite, but I do love cilantro.
