We absolutely loved visiting La Luna while in Nosara — so much so that we went twice! Once for dinner and again for breakfast. The ambiance is truly breathtaking. The sunsets are some of the most beautiful we’ve ever seen — the sky literally looks painted on.

The food is delicious, and the portions are generous. Our group ordered the snapper (beautifully presented and full of flavor) along with a few pizzas to share. Everything was great, and we even had leftovers to enjoy the next day.

Most of the crowd seemed to be a mix of tourists and expats, which gave it a relaxed but lively feel.

Definitely make a reservation in advance — especially for sunset!

Magical restaurant on the beach with delicious food. Good service at lunchtime. We enjoyed a Falafel sharing platter and vegetable kebabs and a jug of freshly made mixed fruit juice.

So good that we went two nights in a row! Highly recommend the kebab or falafel. The sauces that came with them were fantastic. The pizza was thin and still good, but I’d order the kebabs again first. Good house wine too and great views! If you go during sunset they let you bring your drinks down to the water to enjoy! Cute little shop in the restaurant and dogs roaming around.

We had a deliscious beachside dinner here on NYE with our kids, they were crowded and busy/slow but hospitable and great with our kids. We had the ceviche, mixed grill and jalepeno steak and this was by far one of favorite dinners while in Costa Rica/Nosara.

The food was amazing! We were there at sunset and the view was spectacular. Service was a little slow, but that poor waitress was running around like crazy doing a bunch of different things, so I don’t really fault her for that. The dessert we ordered was absolutely delicious- I highly recommend it!

I am so happy I found this place. The drive is interesting. It kind of feels like you’re heading in the middle of nowhere then all of a sudden you reach the parking lot and you see inside and it’s absolutely beautiful. Overlooking the water just such a cool vibe. The food was phenomenal. It was just a wonderful experience. You have to visit this place when you’re in Nosara. We loved it so much we had dinner and breakfast here.

The setting with the beach and the sunset were incredible. The service was nice and friendly. The food, the worst part of the experience. After only a couple of apps we decided to call it a night. The ceviche had far too many tomatoes and not enough plantain chips to enjoy. The calamari was bland and seemed unseasoned. Definitely the worst I’ve had in the Nosara area. If you want a lovely setting for a romantic sunset this place is it, just expect to overpay for food and drinks.

Beach front breakfast for me. Setting is unequaled, the ocean greats you warmly.

Waffles were thick and delicious, side of bacon & eggs was terrific! Priced fair…actually priced more than fair for Nosara, which can be a bit crazy

Highly recommend!

This used to be my favorite place and I always bring my friends here, which makes this experience especially disappointing.

I made a reservation to celebrate my friend’s birthday, but the service was cold and inattentive from start to finish. During the three hours we were seated, no one asked even once how our food was or if we needed anything, including water or drinks. The pizza was served cold and we were very thirsty seated in front of dirty plates for hours. Spicy Sauce came after almost done eating and many more things to add to the list.

After trying to get the attention of multiple waiters we waited about 30 minutes only for the dessert menu. Although I had requested specific birthday candles 3 times to create a nice surprise for my friend, the dessert was brought out with just one plain candle, which was not what I requested. It was presented without warmth or celebration – the waitress placed it down and bluntly asked who it was for, without a smile or any acknowledgment that it was a birthday.

We spoke to the manager, who removed the cold pizza and the service fee from the bill. However, after that, we still had to wait another 20 minutes just to get the check. Given the lack of service throughout the evening, I truly felt at this point the full bill have been fully comped as a matter of responsibility.

Sadly, this experience left a very bad taste. I won’t be coming back for a while and sincerely hope the service improves.

Our friends got married here 10 years ago, and it still lived up the praise they gave it!! I’ll be dreaming of my jalapeño steak and the burger was great. Not to mention the mango margarita that was out of this world. We ate here past sunset and the vibe was still great with the palms starlit and waves creating the most beautiful ambiance. Can’t wait to go back.
