Rodney and Vinny and their crew a Smashed n Fried are the absolute best around. The food is incredible, I recommend getting over there for a wing night, but the burgers and chicken sandwiches are the best in the city.

Rodney and Vinny use this business as a way to take care of the community as well. They support other local vendors, they take care of people when they walk through the doors, they grew up right down the hill and they care. I’m a customer for life because the food is great but the people are better.

I went on a Sunday afternoon and it was really quiet. The bartender at Monday’s directed us where to order food and where we could sit to eat. While we waited for the food we had drinks at Monday’s and chatted with the bartender until he began to get busy and even then he continued to check in with our party. Great food. The conversations with the staff were the best. They were patient with our many questions. Their recommendations were on point.

(My actual review will come after this) If you scroll down, you’ll see a bad review from Kaitlyn Bower. Lucky for me, I was walking in for my first time at Smashed ‘N Fried when this lady was making a scene. She was threatening to post more negative reviews of this establishment and that she’d shut them down. People like her are the first ones complaining that their neighborhood lacks businesses.

Anyone competent and with at least one brain cell knows that you can’t bring your own food into a restaurant due to health codes and liabilities. Take your picky kids somewhere else or feed them before you go out.

ANYWAYS. This was my first time here and it was absolutely phenomenal. The prices were reasonable, our food came out fast & we were met with plenty of smiles in a welcoming atmosphere. They have great selections of beers and have trivia every Monday! Before we left my fiance had already texted our friends about coming here for a double date, I texted my trivia group about hitting this place up and we will be bringing my dad here for dinner this week!

That’s what it’s all about. Show the businesses that surround you some love

I was first introduced to Smashed and Fried through their food truck. I am in the brewery industry and when I found out that they were opening a spot at Monday’s Brewing in Greenfield, it was a double win! I usually travel 30-40m to get their food and it is definitely worth it!

I would like to tell you about my most recent experience and I would like to also prompt this with I don’t usually leave reviews. I had traveled to Monday’s this past Friday with my daughter to get some great food and good drinks. When we got there, it was extremely busy especially at Smashed and Fried. When we made it up to order our food, we found out that the owner and one other staff were the only staff working. They explained that they had two call offs for the evening and this was during Lent. I was completely amazed by how these two staff members held themselves together, focused on the customers and provided great service despite being the only ones working. I can’t stress enough how busy they were. They never stopped working and had our food out in a very reasonable time. Our food was delicious as it always is!

My daughter then explained to me about a few negative reviews that were left and I was dumbfounded. It is a constant battle for me to decide which one of their delicious food selections I want to choose every time I go there. I have never had anything even remotely bad. They have a great selection to order from so you can’t lose no matter what you choose. I will say that their smash burger is the best in Pittsburgh! If you are trying them for the first time, the burger is a must!! I have even taken food home because I couldn’t decide.

We will continue to be patrons of Smashed and Fried not just for their food (which is very important) but because the staff/owner are respectable, hard working people who take pride in their business. My review will never do them enough justice , in my opinion. Keep it up guys! You do an amazing job and should be proud of yourselves!

On a side note, I am of Polish descent and had an aunt who made the best haluski. During my last visit, I tried their haluski and I didn’t think it was possible but—-I loved their Haluski more than my aunts! However, it’s only offered during Lent on Fridays. Make sure to get out there and try it!!!!

Great food great service! I had one of their new menu items the quesadilla it was delicious. My kids loved the jr. Smash Burger that came with a side of fries and a drink. And the side of fries were a pretty big portion. I was helping my 3yo in the bathroom when I heard our order buzzer go off and the one guy working helped my 7yo bring the food over to table. That was very nice of him. Always a great experience. Keep up the great work and congratulations on your second location opening soon!

There is no sign what so ever to let you know “seat yourself” unless you approach to the bar to find out about it. For first time visitor this can be confusing for people, a simple sign would be very helpful.

Quality of the burger is a tad bit lower than your average burger, nothing special. The edges on the patties are super crispy where they are almost burnt.. once you clear that and get to the bun area, it’s get better. Very basic burger and fries cost roughly $18 no drink. Burger doesn’t even have lettuce tomato pickles etc… just caramelized onions and their sauce. Shrimp basket was alright.

Place didn’t have napkins during our visit so kitchen cooker had to give me a small amount of paper towel roll cut up. Not super friendly, or customer service oriented place.

I was very happy with everything. I went around 3p on a Saturday. It was busy but not overly crowded.I couldn’t decide between the fish or the smash burger so I got both. I waited about 10 minutes for my food. Everything was HOT and delicious. The fish sandwich was smaller than I thought it would be … nonetheless it brought me JOY.
It was so good! The batter had a nice crunch and the fish was a good thickness (for me). The fries were really good, crispy and nicely seasoned no ketchup needed. I saved my burger for later. I could have eaten it cold but I did warm it up. I was not disappointed, it was delicious.
Both Items 10/10. The staff was friendly. It was a very pleasant experience

Love these guys and never once have been disappointed. Genuinely think they serve up some of the best chicken wings I’ve ever had in my life. The smash burgers are so flavorful and delish compared to other popular ones I’ve tried in the city.. Fries are smoking hot every single time. Great service and people with actual personality and grit behind the counter. 11/10.

Smashed n Fried has been my go to spot since they started with their food truck. This place is amazing, and they’re building off of what they started!! The wings, queso fries, and of course the smash burgers should only be eaten from here. I’m not sure I’d be able to eat any of these things from any other establishment. Rodney, Vinny, and Lance always provide the best customer service, and go above and beyond to make sure their customers are satisfied. Keep doing great guys, I’m excited to see how you build and expand for the future! – Happy customer.

I’ve known a few of the crew down here at Smashed N’ Fried for over a year now, and when I say this is one of the best smashed burger spots in Pittsburgh, I’m not lying. I found them as their food truck when they came to my work, and once I tried their food and met the owner and his crew, I was hooked. They are some of the kindest and most down to earth people, and their smoked chili queso fries are one of my favorites. I drive 30-40 minutes out of my way to get this burger and I’m never unsatisfied with my trip. I recommend them to everyone and I hope whoever sees this review knows they are the real deal. You won’t be disappointed.
