We were skeptical about going to a bbq joint in Germany as we’ve been disappointed too many time. This place was phenomenal! All the dishes were just sooo good! The steaks were amazing. They are smoked before they are grilled and they were cooked to perfection. The smoked beef ribs were falling off the bone and were seasoned so well. All the dishes were great, but the potato salad was a huge surprise in a great way. We don’t normally eat coleslaw, but theirs was too good to pass up. During the winter, they do all you can eat bbq and it was definitely worth it! The service was exceptional! Would definitely be back!

We are staying at this restaurant’s hotel, which is why we chose it for dinner. Unfortunately, it was a disappointment for us. First of all, we ordered two burgers and two portions of fries, but our order did not arrive for a full one hour. This is an extremely long waiting time, especially for such a large venue. All the tables were experiencing the same issue, and the place wasn’t even fully crowded.
The burger itself wasn’t bad — I liked it — but if you come here very hungry, you might feel like you’re starving while waiting.
Additionally, even asking for the bill took 10–15 minutes, and after requesting it, it still took a while to arrive. Long story short, if you come here, you should expect to spend at least three hours. I definitely would not choose this place again.

As an American, I was craving some American-style BBQ and steak. This place exceeded my expectations! We ordered the upgraded meat plate for 2 and I can’t recommend it enough for a special date night or friends night out. The meats are served with a special salt and butter so you can season them yourself. The service was incredible; our server Andrea took great care of us and made us feel special. The vibe is fun too…they play classic 80’s rock music which I love! Also, if you’re missing IPAs from the States, they seem to always have one on top here. Will definitely be back to enjoy delicious meats or a burger!

Had a lovely evening here, the food was excellent! The best I have had in Köln thus far. The service by our host: Andrea was phenomenal. I will come back to Green Smoke if I am ever back in town. It was a great night out. I highly recommend the sirloin steak, medium rare with their special secret salt mix & homemade abricot mayo. 100/10. Will be back!

We were here with a larger group of about 25, planned ahead with reservation weeks in advance for the outdoor BBQ. There seemed to be only one guy cooking and he was doing his best. Very friendly and polite. They had an amazing pulled pork, but unfortunately they did not have enough for our entire group so many people didnt get any. The steak option was cooked quite rare, and they were not open to making any that was more medium done, so some people were then without either option. Placing drink orders was difficult and we kept having to ask when they would not bring everyone’s drinks. The seating was a bit crowded with the servers not being able to reach everyone to pick up plates or empty bottles. We had to pass them down the line of people trying to eat to set them on the end of the table. Understanding that we had a larger group though, I think the dinner was really great and probably fine for smaller groups. I would try this place again for sure. And try to get my hands on the pulled pork.

Waiters were kind and helpful however we waited over an hour for our food in a very quiet restaurant. We were seated practically at the bar when there were plenty of other, much nicer, seats available as the restaurant was almost empty. Eventually when the food finally came out, we were disappointed. The chicken was red in the middle and lacked any good flavour. This was somewhat made up for by a pleasant burger and a decent side order but the after an hour’s wait you would like to expect better.

The food was okay, nothing particularly extraordinary. The restaurant is located inside a hotel, and while that’s convenient, it felt a bit empty and lacked a warm, welcoming atmosphere. On the plus side, the staff was super friendly and attentive
