Buck and Honey Birkinbine were one of the area’s best-known residents. They once owned and farmed the land where our first location in Sun Prairie sits today. Together they lived a life of service and philanthropy in the community and they were always well known to enjoy hosting good company at their home on Windsor Street. It is in their spirit that we present to you Buck & Honey’s Restaurants.
Family-friendly American comfort-food eatery with a Friday fish fry plus a full bar & live music.

Our group used the side room for a retirement lunch and it was amazing! Buck & Honey’s has a nice side room you can use for a larger group so it was easy to talk to colleagues. The sever was very nice and all of our food was good! I loved the Chicken caesar salad! The caesar dressing was made in house!

Buck & Honeys use to be such a treat. Valentine’s Day changed that. For starters, the Servers are pretty awesome. Majority of the complaints are not under their control. The prices, B&H is notably pricey for reputation. V-Day prices are reasonable provided everything else is great, they were not. Chipotle Chicken Pasta, my favorite. I guess I should have given the black pepper on the table a try to add any sort of spice, heat, warmth to the dish. The Cherry Duck, while duck isn’t chicken, a Duck Breast shouldn’t be the size of a chicken strip unless it was harvested at 8 months old. The rose on the table was nice but had I listen to my instincts, I would have had a nice flameless candle to enjoy. It was dark and for a reserved table we sat near the mall food court section. (Where your business is everyone else’s that walks by to the other places) We agreed that a heart shaped pizza would have been the better option.
The real kicker was hearing the identical thing from someone else that was there that night.
That pasta and those prices are going to need some consistency that reflects the effort that’s being put out.

Fabulous meal with the best service we’ve had in a long time. Rustic yet beautifully decorated.

I found myself in Sun Prairie last week and decided to try this place after seeing its many accolades. It did not disappoint!
It was a warm evening, so I decided to sit outside. The outdoor seating was very nice, and they had live music.
I got the Friday fish fry, and it was one of the best I’ve had in my time as a Wisconsinite. I had the money to spare in my budget, so I even splurged on the chocolate cake. It was absolutely delectable.
Despite being nearly full, the service was reasonably attentive. They clearly run a tight ship!
Overall, this place is fantastic, and I can see why it has won so many awards over the years. If I ever find myself in Sun Prairie again, there’s a good chance I’ll be back.

My fiancée and I went for a long overdue date night and had a wonderful time! Our server, Marissa, was amazing, gave us great recommendations and was so kind. We each got a How Bout Them Apples drink and loved them. We had the Firecracker Shrimp (20/10, my fiancée is still talking about it) and Sassy Curds for appetizers. She had the Stuffed Chicken and Potato Dippers and I had the Filet Mignon, Green Beans, and Garlic Mashed Potatoes and both were delicious. Definitely on the pricier side but you’re absolutely getting what you paid for, and it’s worth it. The restaurant itself is well set up (bar and dining areas are separate and there was barely any overflow noise in our dining area from the bar!) and it was beautifully decorated for the Holidays! We’ve even added them to our list of potential caterers for our wedding! We’ll definitely be back!

Absolutely great in Sun Prairie. The live music on the patio as we approached was fantastic. Not too loud and good patio dining tunes. Inside the restaurant was very nice and inviting. We sat at the bar which had ample tvs for catching the game(s). They have a great drink selection and food menu. I look forward to going back to try some different things. We’ll worth a stop for a bite and a brew.

We have recently visited the Waunakee and Sun Prairie locations. All 3 times we had the firecracker pizza. It’s excellent and they certainly don’t skimp on the ingredients. We were a little disappointed with the pizza at the Sun Prairie restaurant as the pizza was undercooked, which made it hard to cut the pizza. It also wasn’t cut all the way through to help with serving it. Still tasty, but, definitely needed to be baked longer. We took the leftovers home and rebuked. That helped.

Have been to B&H a few times and always enjoyed. This time tried the fish fry n was just meh ♀️ The best part was the roll. The “cheesy” hashbrowns were by no means cheesy and undercooked in my opinion. The fish was good don’t get me wrong, just have had way better fish fry in WI for sure!! Tried the mac-n-cheese and that was way overcooked so just overall a bit disappointing. I will be back just not doing that order again.

I have been to this restaurant two times. Every time that we have gone there I order the same food. I love the Firecracker Shrimp pizza. It is very delicious and spicy. It has a nice flavor to it that other pizza places do not offer. One pizza is enough for two people to share. Or there will be leftovers for the next day. It is a little pricey but it is worth it.

Buck & Honey’s has a cozy, upscale, neighborhood bar feel. Food was lovely and worth the price. Portions were generous. For about $75, I was able to treat my wife and I to a date night that included an appetizer, one drink per person, and an entree for each of us. The wait staff was friendly, warm, and attentive without being intrusive. This spot will likely be one of our go-to easy date night spots moving forward!
