The view is beautiful. I love to look outside and see the trees and the small creek.
I ordered a cosmopolitan and it was excellent. I ordered the short rib and it came out within five minutes. It was scary fast. It was supposed to be short rib with mashed potatoes and as you can see in the picture there was very little mashed potatoes, and the short rib was on top. It was almost like a stew. no vegetable or anything else came with the food.
Normally, when I order short rib, you get a vegetable or another side with the meal. I felt that the food was overpriced for what you get. We tried some dessert, but unfortunately, it was just not to our liking and we decided not to eat the carrot cake. It just did not have a good flavor or taste.
I always like to try a restaurant two times. I would try it one more time just to see if the food is better and next time we would love to sit outside.
The Creekside Restaurant and Bar is a pretty sizable restaurant. They seem to be the neighborhood spot to go to for family celebration meals and grabbing a quality bite to eat from a place you can trust.
My first impression of this place is that it has an upscale vibe. Nice aesthetic and good hospitality. The cutlery is made from metal and the plates were solid. The napkins were made to look like cloth but were made from a very thick paper.
The food was decent and the service was on par. We had a waiter give us a dope run down of the menu…he was cool.
I had the Whiskey Grilled Salmon w/ Potato Pancakes and Wild Rice as my main and The Zesty Veggie Pizza. My partner decided on the Lobster Quesadilla and Fried Zucchini Planks.
I heard the salmon was top notch but I give it a 6/10. It was a bit underwhelming. Portion size was nice. I wasn’t mad about that. The slab of salmon I got was big. Though, I think it was too thick not to have been marinating in their glaze or some type of seasoning. It was cooked nicely but almost a little dry and only had flavor at the top layer. The rest didn’t even taste like fish…. >.> The potato pancakes were great. I liked them by themselves, they didn’t need the applesauce or sour cream.
The pizza was pretty good. I’m going to try it as a leftover to see how good it is the day after. It was better hot…lost a bit of flavor as it cooked. But great for happy hour pricing.
As for the zucchini planks, they were a bit oily. Good flavor but too greasy to finish. Not enough zucchini to batter ratio either.
I heard the lobster quesadilla had a really good flavor with the sweet chilli sauce. Where they lost points here is with being stingy on the lobster we had to look inside to see if it was some lobster in there and not just rice and filling. Good flavor, not enough protein.
All in all, a decent experience but the main course didn’t live up to expectations. Happy Hour menu appetizers would’ve done us justice for the price. I’d like to see them marinate their salmon slabs and add more lobster to their quesadillas.
Potato Pancakes were A+
