The birthday dinner was beautiful, the chefs were so kind and entertaining, and the whole atmosphere was full of laughter and love. We laughed, we ate good, and we made memories that will last forever.
Grateful for moments like these and the people who make life sweeter ✨
Food was great! Good portion! If I ever come back I will ask to not have him as our server.
After 45 minutes passed, we politely asked for an update. We were told to stand to the side, which we did. Shortly after, the host seated another party that had arrived after us. As the host walked back, we asked where we would be seated, and she responded, “Oh, I forgot,” and stated she would prepare another table for us. At that point, I requested to speak with the manager(Jamboo). The host came back stating she couldn’t find him maybe he was on a smoke break while she was laughing. I then requested the assistant manager and the manager then appeared.
While explaining that our party of two had been waiting prior to the other group being seated—and that we were instructed to stand to the side only to be forgotten—the manager’s response was minimal, offering “mm-hmm” and “okay.” I asked if he was truly listening, and he stated that he was and that he would also be upset if it happened to him.
After being seated, we placed our order. When the server delivered food to the party seated with us—who ordered after we did—I inquired about our order. The server stated he “forgot” because he could not read what was written on the order ticket. This marked the second time during our visit that we were forgotten by two different staff members.
I requested the manager again. His response was, “What do you want me to do? They’ve been working long shifts. It was an accident.” While I understand that restaurants can be busy and mistakes can happen, being overlooked twice in one visit reflects a deeper issue with attentiveness and accountability. The manager stated he would return to check on us, which he had also mentioned earlier, but he never did.
When we received the bill, I asked the server whether the manager had reviewed it. The server said he had been told not to adjust anything. I requested the manager review it, but he declined and stated nothing would be done.
After more than 20 years of patronizing Kiki’s, this was by far the worst service I have experienced. I have never encountered this level of inattentiveness at the Fayetteville location before. While the food was absolutely delicious—compliments to the chef, as that truly saved the overall experience—the service and management response were extremely disappointing.
Moving forward, I will be more selective with where I choose to dine.
But, don’t ask for tea or hot water because apparently they don’t have tea or hot water.
