The food was outstanding. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and prepared to perfection. You can truly taste the quality and care in every bite. The service was prompt without ever feeling rushed, and the team’s positive energy made the entire experience even more enjoyable.
This was easily one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in Gainesville. I highly recommend CHR Restaurant to anyone looking for amazing food and exceptional service. I will definitely be returning!
For entrées, we ordered the Lamb Chops, 8oz Filet, and Salmon—each dish was top tier. The proteins were cooked to perfection, seasoned impeccably, and presented with care. Every bite reflected the quality and attention to detail CHR puts into their menu.
Dessert was the perfect ending to a wonderful meal. The Crème Brûlée, Cheesecake, and Chocolate Mousse Brownie Cheesecake were rich, indulgent, and worth saving room for.
A special thank you to Derrick Turner, General Manager, and Nicole L., who made sure we were completely taken care of throughout the evening. Their hospitality truly elevated the experience.
I highly recommend CHR for both the inviting ambience and the flavorful, well-executed cuisine. If you’re in the Gainesville area, this is a must-visit dining destination.
This restaurant was built with precision and meticulous thought an expertise. It towers over most everything in the square for sure.
I have probably been there since it opened 20+ times and never had a bad experience
Executive Chef, Jeremy Green, is always adding to the menu since they opened with seafood towers, new desserts, different entrée items and the bartenders really have the creativity going on with great drinks!! I’m actually a little shocked when I leave there because my bill is never crazy. I’ll go there with friends and sit at the bar. I’ve had multiple family gatherings there with groups of 10 of us and I’ve been there with just myself and another, so each time it has been an excellent experience. I highly recommend this place even if you don’t live in Gainesville it’s worth the trip, but there’s plenty of parking across the street at the parking deck and you can’t miss beautiful ambience of this restaurant from the outside and inside the ribeyes are amazing. The pork belly is my absolute favorite and they have a few different salads that are superb!
CHR Steak is absolutely incredible! I knew it was going to be a five-star dining experience before I even got there — I’d already heard so many amazing things in the few days it’s been open — but wow, it still blew me away.
From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was elegant and romantic — soft lighting, smooth jazz playing, and even the aged meat on display with tags showing how many days each had been aged. Such a classy touch!
We ordered the filet, and it literally melted in our mouths — no steak sauce needed (though they did bring some on the side). The lobster mac and cheese was so good I actually took home what I couldn’t finish and ate it cold for breakfast the next morning — no shame, it was that good! The mashed potatoes were hands down the best I’ve ever had — creamy, buttery, and topped with crispy fried onions. But surprisingly, my favorite dish might have been the street-style corn. I don’t even like corn, but my boyfriend ordered it, and once I had a bite, I ended up eating all of his!
And let’s talk about the cocktails — bar manager Nikki has handcrafted the most incredible drinks. I had one made with Empress 1908 gin, lavender simple syrup, Italicus Rosolio di Bergamotto, fresh lemon juice, and egg white, garnished with a lavender sprig and gold flake. Absolutely beautiful and delicious! Then manager Derick (such a pleasure to talk to!) brought me one of his favorites — an eggnog martini Nikki created that tasted just like an iced chai latte from Starbucks.
This is officially my new favorite spot in Gainesville. If I could give 10 stars, I would!
