My wife bought pollo a la brasa today from the restaurant (VIVA CHICKEN) at 11641 Waverly Center Dr. charlotte NC . When we got home and opened the boxes, we found coins inside the chicken. This was really disgusting and very concerning from a hygiene standpoint. Food should never contain foreign objects like this. Because of this experience, I will not return to this location again. I hope the management improves their food handling and quality control so this doesn’t happen to other customers.

I really like this place I’ve been coming for years. The naked Peruvian wrap is amazing. With or without chicken added. And then I get the plantains obviously. Today I added on a bowl of chicken soup. Everything was very good.

Last night I went to Viva Chicken with my family. The place wasn’t busy, the restaurant was clean, and the staff were very kind. I ordered the steak saltado, and asked the staff for help choosing another dish. A friendly young man gave us 3 options, and we decided on the rotisserie chicken sandwich.
The rotisserie chicken sandwich was tasty, but I was a little disappointed to find a couple of bones inside. The steak saltado came in a bowl, but it was mostly rice with just a small amount of steak, onion, and fries not quite what I expected. On the positive side, the herbal lemonade was refreshing, the food came out in less than 6 minutes, and the price was reasonable for what we ordered.

Stopped in for dinner at 5:30 Saturday night. Place was empty although parking lot was full. Never a good sign. Ordered a bowl with chicken. I received a bowl of rice dotted with some vegetables and a couple tablespoons of chicken. None of it was fresh and all of it looked like end-of-the-day content that had been sitting in a warmer. The rice and beans made up about 3/4 of the bowl. The shreds of chicken were tough and tasteless. Even the vegetables were wilted. Now I understand the empty dining room. This used to be a very popular place that served up fresh dishes with adequate amounts of fresh tasty chicken and a solid rice-to-chicken balance. If you like spending $14.00 for a bowl of stale rice, some wilted vegetables and some stringy chicken this is your place. I suggest walking the few feet across the parking lot to Chipotle where you will get a better bowl for about the same price.

Worst location I’ve been to. Took ~50% longer than the estimated time to get my online order. My sweet potato fries are completely burnt, and they barely gave any broth for my soup. Will stick to their ballantyne location.

My husband’s family & I love this restaurant. It’s one of our favorites & we love ordering here. They have delicious ají Amarillo sauce (yellow sauce) & delicious yuca fries & sides. I love their wraps & my husband loves their chaufa & lomo saltado. Their drinks are also so good.

My fiance and I came here this last Saturday. We got half a chicken with the three sides and the Verde soup. Pretty bomb dot com.
The soup was so delicious. It’s one of my new favs.
Another one of my favs was the green juice with the mint and basil. So so so delicious.
The only downfall was that my fiance said the fried rice was like onion rice.
Will definitely be back if we are in the area.

Usually I love this place! Me and my friends order often however, the order that just arrived at my house had me…concerned. Not only was order wrong and containing ingredients I cannot eat but it was missing the rice I ordered too. The worst part was the chicken in my burrito. It was very pink and fatty? Not eating this. I don’t want to risk food poisoning. So disappointing and very unappetizing. Finding somewhere else to eat since they seem to be having quality issues atm.
